    Agreed!
I also got a kick out of those Sam tracks. Too bad they got pulled, because I was hoping to hear more!

Yeah, I'm a Dave or the graver, but VH should have considered doing this on that abortion of a live album they released last.

I know they had some Hagar era tracks on VHND a while back, but I'd love to get ahold of complete CD's of each era without vocals.

Something tells me that III would suddenly become much more listenable

The official Atlas Music Group's publishing site lists the alternate instrumental versions. Im guessing might be part of the reason they were pulled from the VHND. Here's the link.

These are so cool and incredible...

They almost sound like new songs since you are hearing guitar, bass, and drum parts that were obscured in the original mixes. We should really try and get these instrumental versions curated into one place... I think they're actually quite important musically to study.

    So far we have 8:

    Panama
    Hear About it Later
    Mean Street
    ATBL
    Pretty Woman
    Teacher
    YRGM
    I'm the One

Q: How many are there in circulation at this point, and who can create more?

With all that was done and said by the brothers VH about Michael, these instrumentals just concrete the fact that Michael was a far superior bass player than they gave him credit for, not to mention his voice for backup vocals. Why they decided to shit on him the way they did still, to this very day, make absolutely no damn sense.
I can NEVER forgive them for that, at all.

The ability of hearing Mike without the vocals drowning him out is stellar. You don't follow players like Ed and Al, for all these years and be a, "So So" bass player, that has to be shown how to play certain parts. Calling BULLSHIT on Ed for even saying that.

HH<------ Mike was absolutely the foundation for Van Halen, bar-none. To quote Edward himself, "Without Mike, Van Halen would not be...." Funny he forgot that along the way ------------------

Aren't these just the ripped tracks from the Guitar Hero Van Halen VIDEO GAME? It is also where the isolated Dave Vocal only tracks came from.

They have been around for a while. December 2009.
