Thanks all for the continued input.

I have been toying around with the various recommendations....one thing I have noticed; and maybe it is my settings; is on Ch 1 I do not feel it has enough of the crunch brown sound without an OD pedal? Is that normal? For example I love to play DTNA and the opening riff is a great example of a nice EVH brown/crunch sound....on Ch1 without OD it sounds very thin to me.

As I stated earlier I play with an EVH Circles Guitar.....thoughts?

Channel 1 with the gain up could get you into AC/DC territory, but it is really more of a clean channel. Channel 2 with the gain low is probably what you're looking for.

To make sure I do not screw this up...would I go loop send - noise gate input - noise gate output - loop receive. Then noise gate loop send to chorus in, chorus out to noise gate loop receive?

Very; will dial those up soon...I have barely touched Ch3. He has the head while I have the combo so slightly different but close enough; funny; my Ch1/2 settings not far off from his. Thanks for sharing!!

Yes, I have noticed that channel 1 sounds thin to me too. I put my gain at 12 o'clock for channel 1/2. I knock it down to about 10:30 when playing on channel 2, but 12 0'clock for channel 1. At that setting, I get pretty decent driven clean sound. Bring your bass up a bit on channel 1, and it helps. Channel 1 does start to break up when the gain is all the way up, but still pretty clean. The chorus in the loop thickens it up though with the right settings, and combined with the delay in the loop, it can give the illusion of more gain through a thicker sounding signal. When ch. 1 is dimed on the gain though, it makes an extreme volume jump when switching from channel 1 to 2.

I rarely play channel 1. For cleans, I use a Fender Bassbreaker a/b with my 5150. Only time I use channel 1 is playing stuff like Eagles and Petty.

Yes. But to be honest with you, just try the chorus without the noise gate. Unless you're getting unusually crazy hissing or feedback thats not desired - keep the gate out first and hear what you get.
