    Default String Height Question

Is there a standard string height on Wolfgang and Strat style guitars, or is it mostly personal preference? I like low action by sometimes I think I have the string too low.

    What do you guys think?

It is personal preference. Guitar setup is incredibly personal and really you can do anything you want as long as there is no buzz anywhere on the fretboard.

This is why I work with a professional guitar technician to setup all my instruments. Setup charges are incredibly cheap (around $50 at most) and the tech will work with you to tweak it until you are happy. Sit with your tech, play it, then tell the tech how it feels to you and he will adjust accordingly. You can sit there and go back and forth ad infinitum until you get it the way you want it.

Then you might make some notes on action and string height at various places on the fingerboard so that you can adjust it to fit those parameters later on.

Another part of the beauty of taking your guitar to a professional is that they can find and fix any other intonation or setup issues. They can find a fret that needs filing or crowning and leveling. They can make truss rod adjustments to get the perfect amount of bow in the neck. They can find a burr in your Floyd but that causes buzzing. They can correct a weak bridge mounting screw...anything. They take all the guess work away. And it is cheap.
