Default Cool Hard Rock Songs fromt the 60's

I was watching the 2nd Austin Powers movie over the weekend. When Austin goes back to the 60's he lands in a party that's playing "Magic Carpet Ride" and the next song is American Woman. I love both of those songs.

it occurred to me that I don't have very many hard rock tunes from that time period on my IPOD.

Suggest some good 60's hard rock for me to check out.

    thanks in advance.

"hard rock" is probably a relative term when it comes to the '60s, but some of my favourite rocking numbers:

The Rolling Stones - "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", "Jumpin' Jack Flash"
The Beatles - "Revolution", "Helter Skelter"
    Cream - "White Room"
The Kinks - "All Day And All Of The Night"
    Jimi Hendrix - "Purple Haze"
    Led Zeppelin - "Communication Breakdown"

May not be "hard rock" but it's got a solid tempo and good chorus. Something that can be turned up in my opinion.

Good ones! Detroit represent. Whenever I think of the earliest of metal tunes, Kick Out the Jams always comes to mind.

An awesome hard rock instrumental from 1966 ...

Check out the list of guys who played on this at the beginning of the video.

"The past ain't what it used to be"

"Music is like candy. You throw out the rappers"

    Stones - Paint it Black

Pretty hard rockin for the time. You literally want to get in a Huey chopper and start shooting an M-60 from the door gunner spot.....

Go through the catalogs of both Vanilla Fudge and Cactus... all late 60's, early 70's stuff... you should find many songs you'll like...

Here's a cool video of Cactus playing in 2012:
