Doesn't sound like Ed at all to me. Some of the vibratos in the rythm playing just don't sound like anything we've heard from him and the solo bits don't have the frenetic "falling down the stairs" quality that Ed was known for even before he did the tapping. The drumming sounds super simplified too. Maybe Ed and Al dramatically improved in the next 24 months after this recording, but I seriously doubt this is them.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

I am no expert but doesn't sound like Eddie or Alex. In fact if you told me who is this?

    Eddie, Alex and Mark Stone
    or
Randy, Kelly Garnie and Rick Forsythe

    I would choose Quiet Riot.

Cool riffs but I don't think it's Eddie.

I agree. Cool little song. But the tone doesn't like early Eddie at all, too distorted. And he's not really a guy to chug along on bar chords like that. More of a riffer, even in the early days.

Definitely doesn't sound like them. Then again neither did "Glitter" or "Gentlemen of Leisure."

It sounds like a very basic and simple riff. Perhaps it is good ol Eduardo. To whom shall we thank for unearthing this gem?
On another note, I saw Springsteen last night at the Phillies stadium in Philadelphia. What a show! That guys catalog is so immense. We tailgated for about 2 hours prior to the show and I got drunk. I did a huge urination prior to going in and did another once through the turnstiles. Had 1 more beer and made my way to my seat. It was a long way to the latrine and about 1 hour later I had to go so bad that I just couldn't make it. By the time that I got to the toilet, approx. 2/3 of what my bladder was storing had soaked my pants and was running down my legs and into my shoes. Major bummer. Great show!

could be wrong but I'd say it's blatantly not them. Couple of those drum fills are really un-Al-esque and the solo sounds more like acdc. the riff sounds slightly too lightweight and generic. Also ed didn't use a wah wah pedal until much later either (afaik?)

Just saw him in Pgh. 3:45 minutes - no filler, so many deep cuts. Unbelievable. Bruce is far from my favorite but I felt privileged to be there.

Ed or Wolf - we need the vaults released. People like Springsteen, Stones, Page and Brian Wilson have broken open the seal - what is the big hangup? Halen's off nights/studio rejects/one off jams are better than most bands best output. I think this would reenergize the fanbase beyond the 1984 fans.

Listened again and I say "nope." Doesn't even sound like '70s EVH. Could be wrong of course, but I strongly doubt it.
