    Default EVH 5150 Micro Stack

Anybody try one of these? Thinking of one for when I go to Hotel Rooms to have on hand.

I bought one. They're a lot of fun but... LOUD! -ish I think it sounds best with the gain at about half and the volume cranked! The gain can get a bit farty when set higher but the unit overdrives nicely with the volume up all the way. This makes it a bit loud for my plan of jamming while watching tv, but I still love it!

I use it for travel/when I'm learning a song and don't want to punish everyone around me. I've had the little Marshall and Fender in the past and this seems to be much better. Considering the size, electronics, wattage, and price, I highly recommend it.

By the way, check out this video for a cheap mod:

It sounds ok, better than the Marshall and most of the Fenders. Almost as good as the Danelectro but really the Blackstar Fly kills them all soundwise.

Been out of the game a while but just good a real good deal on an EVH Flanger, Phaser, and new 5150 Overdrive new for 400.00 in boxes. I have a great Sweetwater connection. Anyway not looking to spend a ton on his amps. What would be a good model to get to play these pedals through for them to sound sweet?

    Great deal, indeed!
I've had a lot of luck playing through the Roland Cube amps. Clean channel (Fender model) really accepts pedals well. And the overdriven models sound good, should you require leaving your distortion pedal at home. Plus built in effects and reverb... I'll certainly be getting the 80watt model w/extension speaker output option.

I'm guessing for around the house the 20w or 40w will be good enough

I have the 10 watt practice version. They also have 20, 40, 60, and 80 watt models - if I'm not mistaken. Different sets of features on each of them, with the same (or similar) amp models & effects.

This , plus Blackstar sells a matching extension cab for it and it sounds killer as an mp3 sound system
