    Default Ed's Goldtop

Hey so, I know Eddie played a Goldtop Lea Paul in the early Pasadena days. But I've seen some pics of him playing one live, later on. Like around 1980-81. Has anyone ever seen these? Does anyone know what songs he used it on? At least live.

The one he played on the 80 tour for And The Cradle Will Rock wasn`t a goldtop , he bought a 58 and 59 around late 79 I believe and it was one of those he used on the 80 tour. It's possible he could have recorded with them , he's got these to badass Les Pauls why not take them in the studio and see what happens . Others will say there's no evidence of this so It can't be possible

I'm pretty sure they, or at least one of them are on some Van Halen studio stuff.
Can't remember which one he favored, but he did say the one in a little less better shape sounded better in one interview...., and he was pretty smitten with it.

I think I have heard that someone heard that he had two vintage Bursts, and that he did like one better than another.

It would be interesting to see if Eddie still has his first Les Paul...the Goldtop. I've never seen a picture of him with the guitar or the guitar by itself since the very early days. It sure is a historic guitar...his first really nice guitar and it was his main guitar from age 13 until the early gigs with Dave in the band.

Eddie has revealed exactly which guitars he used on many, many of the recordings. But there are several that he hasn't revealed. And there is no reason to exclude the Bursts or any of the other guitars he owns or has owned from possible use on these tracks where Eddie hasn't already specifically disclosed the guitars used.

Yeah! Had heard that before, but just stumbled across my copy of the EVH Guitar Aficionado issue. He mentioned it in there as well.

Not just the les Paul's but I'd really like to see his complete guitar collection. I know he's got several Ibanez 1977 destroyers which are expensive but all the other rare shit he has. His collection has to be worth several million.

I've seen that one before. I'm talking like a recent picture. According to shit I've read he has almost every significant guitar ever made.
