Default I might have been at Magic Mountain ...

On this very day. Doubtful, but possible.

Oh, I definitely wasn't there to see Van Halen, as I hadn't even heard of them yet. I remember going to Magic Mountain a few times a year back in the mid to late 70's. I was just thinking how crazy that would be if I had actually been there the day my future all-time favorite band was playing for free, without even realizing it.

I love that Magic Mountain gig. Very cool, early versions of ATBL and LOC. LOC is a little rough, and its not quite up to the speed they recorded it at for WACF lol. No More Waiting and Show No Mercy are terrific too.

I remember buying that back in the day so I could get "Angel Eyes" on disc.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

You're probably better off not knowing for certain.

Knowing I was there and could have seen them pre fame would be a tough pill to swallow.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

I kind of like how they play the end of ATBL, but then launch into the 2nd guitar solo instead of ending the eong. Obviously they were working on the arrangement of that one.

I was there. It was in August not October. I was 10 and I remember hearing this loud guitar and a mass of kids running to where they were playing. It was pure coincidence that we were there. My 2 brothers and I wanted to go see who was playing but our parents wouldn't let us. There were to many crazy teenagers and they didn't want us to get hurt. In talking with my brothers we remember that band had a weird two word name and that it was the last name of 2 brothers in the band. I always thought it was Van Halen but the bootlegs always said the concert was in October. When I saw that other people remember it being in August, I looked at some old pictures from our trip and we were at Six Flags on 8/15/77. I wish I knew about them back then so that I could add that concert to my list of Van Halen concerts. Oh well lost opportunities suck

Cool story! It was more likely that we were there in August than in October, although still a long shot.

yeah that is cool and more confirmation it was 8/15/77 (not Oct like the bootleg always says). Unless VH played there 2x which I doubt.

Well I got to see Dokken at Magic Mountain (1985)...cool
