Let's say Van Halen decides to go with a 4th singer. Will you still consider yourself a diehard VH fan? Will you buy the album? Will you go to the show?
I'd have to probably answer "no" to all three questions, UNLESS what they put out is REALLY good. I never bought VH3 and have only ever heard "Without You" a few times. To me it's almost like VH hasn't had new material since the Greatest Hits fiasco. (MWM and CGTSNM were great, BTW.) They would almost have to choose a singer that I really like for me to even consider buying anything new.

Well, I DID buy VHIII and like I've mentioned before in another thread, I want my money back Edward.

So.... a fourth singer? No, I would not like that at all. I might still check it out, maybe borrow it from a friend before buying it. It had better rock, or Ed's gonna have at least one less fan.

I'll still buy it - it's VH that I like to begin with - and I don't want to base my opinion prematurely based on VHIII.

I would go buy the album and save up for the concert! You fellas that are too "proud" can stay home and cry about whatever you have been crying about. Listen and enjoy is my latest motto! DLR or not: Van Halen is Van Halen.
Just go for it!

I totally agree Cock, (LOL).......... but if somehow they put out something with a new singer that actually was really good, would you be able to get into it?
I think I could forgive VH if they put out something that was REALLY awesome with another singer. (maybe)
Maybe they wouldn't be the classic "MIGHTY VH", but I would think they would be capable of putting out something great if they really wanted to.

I agree, too - the original lineup is what it's all about for me - but I enjoyed Sammy, and even a little bit of the Gary material.

But I wouldn't put it past them to put out some good material with another new singer.

We need to realize that it's been almost 20 years (20 years!!!! ) since they were together as a band, and that a lot of things have changed - it may not be anything like we expect it to be if it does happen (the reunion). Not that it wouldn't ROCK of course.

Laugh my ass off, stop posting at these boards, and certainly not buy the album or see the tour.

I would simply tell myself that it is not worth it anymore.

If a 4th singer came around and it was good, I'd still ignore it. Just because a new album is "good" it is not good enough for me!

Van Halen is Van Halen to me. (Sammy or Dave) Not Gary or anybody else...I can handle one personnel change, but c'mon...3, and possibly 4? No way!

Jumping on the bandwagon just because a new album with a 4th singer is "good" is like the guy who's favorite teams are always the ones who are currently winning. You know, like the guy who conviently claims that his favorite teams are the Lakers, Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, etc.

I know, I know the Cowboys suck this year, and the Yankees lost to Arizona...so the guy in this little story is now a Arizona Diamondback and St. Louis Ram fan, even though the guy lives in Detriot. You follow me?

Lou and Hain already took my answer, but honestly, I'll laugh my ass off as Eddie turns his life into the sequel to "This Is Spinal Tap".

At least if Alex explodes on stage, a few seconds of the show will be worth watching.....

Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!

...It's the BAND and Dave is really the cat that can front VH. He sang his ASS off and was really cool. No cheese here guys, this is filet Mignon! - Steve Lukather's comment after witnessing a Van HALEN 2007 rehearsal
