Smile Blood Type and Your Health

An interesting website I came across.

    >>Blood Type and Your Health<<

Do you think knowing your blood type is only important in the event of a transfusion? Think again! Research indicates that your blood type is a key genetic factor that influences many areas of health and well-being.

Throughout your life, you’ve probably observed that some people tend to lose weight more easily, while for others, their weight is an ongoing battle. Or wondered why some people are plagued by chronic illness while others stay healthy and vital well into their advanced years. Very simply, the answer is in your blood type.

Knowing your blood type is an important tool for understanding how your body reacts to food, your susceptibility to disease, your natural reaction to stress, and so much more. A single drop of blood contains a biochemical makeup as unique to you as your fingerprint.

No one has ever told me either.

I've had blood drawn at various points in my life.
    Why don't they tell you?

Seems like it should be on your medical records since birth.

In a world where a recent poll showed 80% of Americans believe we should have warning labels on foods containing DNA, it's not surprising people would be wiling to follow a diet that has no basis in science.

Yeah, that's what they told me - I assumed they would know from my blood tests over the years but they said no, that's a different test that insurance doesn't pay for! I was shocked...and stunned!

That's the way I felt. For instance, if I'm ever in a serious accident and losing a lot of blood - they're just gonna have to test me then so they can figure out what they can replace it with?!?

It just occurred to me it's probably a good idea to store some of your own blood away for later on in case of an emergency you'd have a stash of your own.

Surprised no one has used this idea as a business. Could be a profitable venture.

Create a chain of blood banks people can go and have their blood retracted and stored in a safe place.

    O neg

I have been donating for over 21 years. I figure it's an easy way to help others.

They have that here. You can donate your own blood before surgery...

I used to donate blood since I am O Pos but unfortunately one batch I gave for my ex wives surgery was tested and came back with HIV. They ran a more thorough test and it came back negative. I get a letter from the Cleveland Clinic saying "you tested positive for HIV and another test came back negative. So you are unable to donate blood. Any questions call this doctor"

Freaked the fuck out of me. Do I have HIV or not? They couldn't specifically tell me but said I was free to get my own test which I did and it came back fine.

Thought it was very distasteful how they handled this. This was back in 99 when people were still dying of AIDS as well. Anyway I can no longer donate which sucks. I am red flagged like a Gary Cherone fan at a VH show

I thought donated blood didn't have a very long shelf life?
