Default Dave talks VH future in new Roth Show

The new Roth Show is called "I'm in..." tho that is in reference to what he later says he would put on his tombstone.

About VH, at the 4:10 mark he says, "I sorta know what the next 10 summers are going to bring -- Eddie Van Halen aside, those are ups and downs -- I don't know when we're going to tour but I have a sense that we will. I don't know that we're going to record again, when that'll happen, but I get the sense that it's... *gonna happen*"

Then he wanders off into a discussion about languages, which the rest of it is mostly about. More enjoyable than most.

Well that clears up any speculation about what is being speculated is all clear. Clearly.

Diamond is back from never being gone back then now

Everyone is healthy. The fact that there is no music is because Ed "doesn't wanna" anymore. Bummer.

Ed not wanting to release new music is so strange to me.

Dave doesn't even make music anymore. I'm not talking one-offs either. Stop lamenting VH and make music on your own, Dave.

Call your homies and act like the artist that you are.

    Stop whining...

    I am sure he can't.

Unless your last name is Van Halen, they are not very understanding with outside projects.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

Dave has finished music ready for release, but I bet we don't hear more than snippets of it until he is out of Van Halen or when he passes away and stuff is released from the DLR Archives posthumously.

Ed may be out of ideas. It happens. When the first album you release in years consists of reworked 30+ year-old demos, it doesn't say much for your current level of inspiration.

I still think we will get at least one more album and tour.

Alas, this may be true. Ed's tank may be empty.

Meanwhile, the Tragically Hip's singer has terminal brain cancer. They are going out on tour this summer as a last hurrah. Bowie launches his last record practically on his death bed. Prince dies in the middle of a tour.

Ed just doesn't seem to care about music anymore. I don't know for sure, of course. But with all the info and his actions, it sure seems that way. I thought maybe WG had given him renewed energy. That touring and playing some of the old stuff would give him a jolt.

    Guess not.

Ed can do whatever he wants. I hope he's happy.

He's no longer an artist anymore. Artists can't help but want to create.

I wonder if long-term sobriety has completely altered his inspiration?

The guy was buzzed his entire life, just about. His daily routine for decades was to wake up...crack open a beer and get to it. Perhaps, it's no longer fun to write without a buzz? What came easily under the influence may be a chore, sober?

Whew. Could be. We can't know for sure, but based on things Eddie has said about his motivations for drinking over the years, my best guess isn't that he doesn't want to write anymore. It's that the fear and judgment he used booze to help him overcome it with is just too great. Fear is an extremely powerful deterrent.

I think Ed writes music. I think Ed records music. Its just not what people would like as a VH so it sits at 5150 on tape. I imagine most of it is just he, Al and Wolfgang just jamming away but I bet its there. One doesn't need to release music to be a musician. I think honestly he doesn't tour unless he needs to replenish his bank account. He hates touring and he probably doesn't like being around Dave. He likes to make music but I think he is trapped by the name VH which he has put on himself.

Now I am not saying whatever he writes has 10 albums of Unchained. Its probably a big hot mess of stuff but I believe he writes and records.

I don't think his days and nights consist of him soldering in his garage and setting up photo shoots for Kody
