    Default Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda

I'm always on the look out for bands that SHOULD have been huge but just missed it becaue of musical genre changes etc. Example 1:

Dangerous Toys, this song rocks. They literally just missed the whole hair band scene....kind of remind me of a poor mans G N R

    Example 2-Saraya:

I actually really like this tune. Like the guitar, the chick singer is hot. it's a fun tune.

add some stuff if you can this can be really fun.

I loved Dangerous toys, the first three albums are killer top to bottom, not a bad song in the mix
The artist album was vastly different, I didn't like it at the time, but listened to it recently and honestly it was 10 years ahead of its time
Tge singer did done stuff with a side band called Broken Teeth that wasn't bad

But yeah, they should have been huge, still a frequent listen for me

    Both are great choices!

Loved that first Toys record, and i loved Sandy Saraya as well.
I had both on cassette, i think.

Best fucking intro riff ever, it swings so hard!

Badlands "Winters Call" is a great tune. I love the outro jam that begins around 4:08... Very Page - like, lots of feel in Jakes playing

Yep. There is a definite Zeppelin influence in Badlands' music.

Ha! Trust me, if I had any of his talent I'd have shot my wad in the 90's and completely sold out fronting some horrible, Nickelback-like band. I do know the guy, though. I sometimes do stuff for him. Legal, non-sexual stuff.

I remember Saraya!! Been a long time since I've heard that song.
Reminded me of A.F.U. a little bit.

    I didn't like Dangerous Toys...at all.

I've only heard that one song by Saraya.

Badlands, King's X and Blue Murder were great bands, but they just weren't meant for mainstream appeal.

Badlands just came along at the wrong time.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I thought Badlands would be bigger, simply because of the notoriety that Jake had coming from Ozzy's high profile gig.
He said all along that they were content just doing their own thing, and I believe that. Judging by the "Dreams in the Dark" video, with its big arena-like production, the guys wouldn't have had any problem with filling bigger venues... LOL. Pretty sure they would've released more albums, had it not been for Ray's untimely passing... R.I.P.

Speaking of Jake, I'm surprised his Red Dragon Cartel isn't bigger. Certainly a cult favorite with their fans, yet (sadly) very largely unknown.
The bass player and multiple singer changes haven't helped, but I hear they're back with DJ Smith (vocals) and working on album number two.
    Looking forward to it!
"There's too many people on this basketball that's floating around the sun, who are too afraid to allow themselves to FEEL" - Edward Van Halen
"Van Halen was never about the singer..." - a very wise fan.
