Default Ultimate Classic Rock ranks the VH albums ...

"It's so lonely at the top because it's so crowded at the bottom" - Diamond David Lee Roth

"Political correctness is fascism pretending to be manners" - George Carlin

"Women and Children First ... The REAL Van Halen III"

I'd have liked to see Diver higher, but i think this list is pretty much correct.

DD could be higher, but not bad right behind 5150 at #7 in the grand scheme.

Plus 1984 and VH1 in top 2 spots is a little too obvious. but to the masses, I guess so.

And FUCK 3rd to last, I can see a bit. They mention lack of diversity which is true to an extent. It's a lot of rockers from start to finish with similar direction (except Right Now).

They say the 90's weren't kind to Van Halen, overall.

While i prefer II, WACF & FW over the debut & 1984, i'd agree that in the grand scheme,
the debut & 1984 deserve the top two slots.

I do think 5150 is a better platter than ADKOT, and yes, i'm an asshole for admitting that.

They rank FUCK third to last and say it's lacking diversity, and then a few ranks up they say "diversity, but a lot of filler".

Pfft. Another dumb clickbait "list." The only thing they got right was VHIII being last, and how hard is that to determine?

Balance second to last? Yeah, right.

VH1 the best VH album? Uh, no.

ADKOT better than FUCK? Hell, I don't even like FUCK, but that's just stupid.

Fair Warning #3? Yeah. Mkay. Maybe next time someone over there ought to consult with a real VH fan. Sure, I guess it's easy to put VH1 and '84 into the top two slots since they're the only albums anyone outside the core fanbase knows.

Why do a 'list' at all if you're not going to actually examine and research in depth?

Can't say I agree with all but as reasonable as any other list.

Right. There are only so many ways you can configure twelve albums. May as well draw them out of a hat. People are going to bitch regardless.

Don't forget how "the '90s were terrible to Van Halen."

Except I guess for the 2 #1 multi-platinum studio albums, the Top 5 double-live album that also went multi-platinum, the Best Of that went #1 and multi-platinum, selling out amphitheaters for 3 tours in a row including 1991 when no one else was doing that, winning a Grammy, having our Air Force play them as their theme song during the Persian Gulf, putting out their most popular song from the era, stealing the show by just presenting award at the VMAs where a reunited Kiss performed, and a bunch of other things, they have a solid point.

FUCK should be way higher. RN, TOTW, P and R--4 of their biggest hits from the era. OU812 doesn't touch that album, as much as I love it!

I think they at least got the best half dozen VH albums in their top 6. Here's how I would rank them:

    (1) Van Halen
    (2) Fair Warning
    (3) Van Halen II
    (4) 1984
    (5) Women And Children First
    (6) 5150
"It's so lonely at the top because it's so crowded at the bottom" - Diamond David Lee Roth

"Political correctness is fascism pretending to be manners" - George Carlin

"Women and Children First ... The REAL Van Halen III"

    Not completely horrible I guess.

Not surprised about Balance. The previous three were more catchy.

Where was all this love for FW in the 80's?
