Default The Difference Between Socialism And Capitalism

I think you might like this guy, Lovemachine - even if you disagree with him. Apparently he is a Libertarian Socialist. He brings up the past too.

Curious what you or anyone else thinks.

I made it about 2 minutes in before I had to stop listening to this dweeb.

The "equality" you people expect is a damn fairy tale.

I do agree that Julie's way of talking to people is silly.

This is bullshit! Seriously? Trust me ML....the workplace needs bosses, ie structure. Most of the young millenial "workers", ironically the ones who preach socialism yhe loudest, I see nowadays would destroy a business in no time. They have zero drive, zero work ethic, yet want more pay. Not gonna happen. Sad to say, but they just don't have a clue. They preach it, but don't understand how it wotks. They just view it as money for nothing. No matter what the system, you work to get paid. You just have more potential under Capitalism. People would rather bitch about it than take the effort to achieve their goals. I couldn't take either of the knob in this video.

He makes many good points that we've discussed here before. Ex. the income disparity in the West is completely out of hand.

The CEO thing making more in an hour than a normal worker makes in a month? Yeah that is a valid point.

"Capitalism" or we can just call it big business had been allowed to basically take control of most western governments. They've also been allowed (via government influence) to destroy the middle class. Is socialism the answer? No. But there are major problems with the 2016 version of "capitalism" that desperately need correcting.

    Thank you.

It's not perfect like anything else but many just bury their head in the sand, hoping that system will work itself out and right the ship on its own.

The free market can be just as dangerous as socialism.

Absolutely no question there, but that's largely the result of Capitalism run amuck. Weather it be socialism, or capitalism, the only things that differentiate the two are the written doctrine and the rules and regulations put in place.
These people trounce all over capitalism, however it's not capitalism itself that has failed.....it's that the rules and regulation which kept potential bad actors in check have been erroded. Rules and regulatory oversight are absolutely essential in either system. Human nature is what it is, and opportunity is a powerful force.
Socialism has failed in most countries too. Greece, Italy, Spain to name but a few.
Most Countries who have Claimed it's success are largely dictatorships who like capitalism, have manipulated the system to benefit themselves.
So does it really matter if it's a corporation or a governing dictator that has a big portion of the wealth? The people get fucked either way.

But only capitalism actively promotes greed.

"Greed is good". Didn't somebody say that?

I also think of that dbag from Wolf of Wall Street. Name escapes me. Unfortunately, that's the image of capitalism, for me. I love it yet hate it at the same time.
