I've got all the original vinyls already from years ago. No need to get them again.
I passed the big "Tokyo" stand in JB the other day and said to myself "pass". Prob the worst live album I've ever heard.

That's pretty cheap for here. When ADKOT was released, I was going to buy it on vinyl (just for the collection) and it was $75. I didn't buy it...

I might grab the live album, just because its cheap. I wont be playing it as I dont own a record player and dont have any plans to buy one... I love vinyl but its too expensive now. Most albums are about $45...

    Thanks for the headsup Jimmy

Yeah, I still have most of my vinyl from the 70's and 80's. I think the last "new" record I bought was in 1986. Probably paid seven eight bucks. Man, the prices for vinyl now are just criminal.

It was nice they brought it back, but of course it had to be a million times more expensive.

Yowzers! I guess that is a sale.

I'm from the days of $5- $10 vinyl. I could never bring myself to pay those prices. Like you said, it's crazy expensive.

    You're welcome Dutchie5150.

Yeah.. unfortunately that is considered a sale Down Under PrideofPasadena.

The remastered albums retail here for $45. It's the first time that I've seen them under that price. I purchased the Live one for the collection given it was so 'cheap'. I have most of the originals, though I may purchase a remaster of Fair Warning at some stage..

Walking through a though a record store, I could see how the idea of paying paying 30 dollars for a brand new vinyl record would seem ridiculous. But if you consider inflation, its in the ballpark. When you factor in that it is now considered a niche product, and the vinyl itself is of higher quality (heavier--making it more durable), 25-30 dollars doesn't seem out of line to me.

I think some people who grew up with them remember how common place records were and think of them as archaic technology. But even if the technology is well over 100 years old, it still costs money to manufacture it. I bet if records stayed as the dominant format of music distribution, we would not notice the gradual rise in prices as much.

However, I don't buy them because sadly, I don't have the space. So maybe the prices aren't stinging me as much as the people who are collecting. Ha ha.

Unfortunately, none of my local JB's have it in stock. In fact only one JB has it in SA, which is right on the other side of the city which is a good 2 hour drive there & 2 hours back. I spoke to them over the phone and because its so cheap, they wont send one through the post (????). I'll think about it over the next few days (Monday is a holiday here) on whether or not I'll go for a drive.

BTW, they were telling me that it was selling for over $100 last week.

With all due respect to both eras of Van Halen, and I love 'em both, Van Halen '89 is their best performance in that great city.

Yeah couldn't get it unfortunately at any JB store would love to have a copy but unless i can pick it up for $30 probably not worth it for me... Cool to pick up a coupel of the remasters though. Been wanting a copy of VHII for a while on vinyl.
