It's a nice thought, but holy fucking shit is DLR a weird dude.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

He could do a couple Bowie covers on acoustic, and spin a couple of stories in between, and that would have come across better in my opinion.

Dave has lived a very full life, with a plethora of life experiences to share with us, but man, this new "stream of consciousness" Roth Show format is not to my liking.

Dave is always on his own trip. I can't always join him, but when I do, it's like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

It's basically his radio show all over again, except this time he's in total control. It's not bad.

Honestly, that was one of Dave's more coherent narratives.

He's a storyteller with a lot of stories to tell.

    I'll listen. ('',)b

I'll admit to a rather weak attention span. But I didn't make it past two minutes.

Dave is one of the greatest frontmen of all time. He wrote great songs with Van Halen and can take a crowd in the palm of his hands like very few others. But he has a completely over-inflated view of how interesting his stories are. He seems to assume that as long as he is talking, it is riveting. But it's just this aimless babbling that generally goes nowhere, or if it does, takes way too long.

That being said, a lot of people obviously enjoy it. So have at it. If he's having fun, and you like it, then to hell with what I think. I just prefer it when he has to tell his story in about three minutes with musical accompaniment.

I didn't watch the video. I can't at work, maybe later.

it's interesting that Dave digs Bowie (I'm assuming he digs him since it's a tribute video). Sam digs Bowie as well and says it a few times in his book.

I think Dave and Sam are actually a lot more alike than any of us know. just a thought.
