BTW, if I haven't mentioned it yet, all these pix so far are from the Santa Barbara Chickenfoot show in '12.

He looked puffy and swollen on Dan Rather. Maybe he just ate a shellfish or something the night before.

Something about Sam being 70'ish kicks my prostate pin right into my gout ball and tickles my fart string.

It's crazy, thinkin' Sammy Hagar is nearly 70, and Dave is over 60. For fuck's sake.

How did you catch the AXS episode? Do you have that on your cable network? We don't out here. Haven't seen an online outlet yet either.

I've only seen the youtube clips.

If anyone here has AXS... as usual, there is no fucking review.

Hoopla speculation before it ever aired... dead silence after the fact.

Here's what I think is a pretty good setlist, in order, from the Foot for their reunion gig, presuming they keep it at an even 20 tracks, two or three of those for the encore, and presuming they toss in a cover like Highway Star or Immigration Song or whatever, plus one 'Sammy' song (like Bad Motor Scooter) as they used to do on the previous two tours:

They gotta open and close BIG. Hard and heavy 'Foot. So the first track is tough. I was debating between Bigfoot, Get it Up, Temptation, and Avenida, decided on Get it Up, it's such a fast n' dirty garage band rawker.

    Get It Up
    Alright, Alright
    Soap on a Rope
    Lighten Up
    Last Temptation
    Avenida Revolution
    Learning to Fall
    Turnin' Left
    My Kinda Girl
    Bigfoot
    Something Gone Wrong
    Down the Drain
    Sexy Little Thing
    Bitten by the Wolf
    Oh Yeah
    Different Devil
    Dubai Blues*

    Encore:
    1. (cover song - some classic hard rock anthem well known to everyone - please no Zeppelin, Sam and Mike have been doing that with the Circle plenty thanks to Jason, let's try something new, like a Beatles track maybe, or AC/DC, or even put Joe's blues skillz to the test with some smooth Stevie Ray).
    2. Sammy solo track - since it's Cinco de Mayo, and fans will be downing tequila at the show and the cantina all day and all night, and since Redheads luuuuv singin' along to the chorus, I'm thinking Mas Tequila would be pretty ideal.
    3. Future in the Past

*Seriously...Mike....Sam...please toss Dubai Blues in the set. You never played it live to my knowledge on the III tour, and it's such a kick ass tune and it'll be a monster when it's played with Joe's live tone.
I think you're not taking into account the 9-minute jams they incorporate into each song in the setlist. Better cut it in half! Plus, they have to re-learn for just one single show. I'd like to see, in terms of a combination of favorites and what's realistic:

    1. Big Foot
    2. Soap on a Rope
    3. Alright Alright
    4. Sexy Little Thing
    5. Down the Drain
    6. Lighten Up
    7. Different Devil
    8. Avenida Revolucion
    9. My Kinda Girl
    10. Something Going Wrong
    11. No Change
    12. Future in the Past
    13. Turnin' Left
    14. Before I Die

    15. Oh Yeah
    16. Just do a fuckin' Van Halen song, will ya?!

I threw in NC since they never played it live.

Pfft. No Van Halen songs. 😎

I'd rather they trim the jams and do more tracks.

But if they wanna toss in an extended Joe solo spot in lieu of a song, I'm down for that. Nothin' wrong with a little Satch riffage.

It seems like that's a common sentiment on this website regarding Satriani.

He's one of the best on the planet.

But I don't listen to his solo albums. Just Chickenfoot. I think his tone sounds friggin' spectacular with Mike's pocket groove and Chad's skins.

I had little problems with the mix in vox and instruments each time I've seen them, so I dunno what Sam's talkin' about if he said that.

CF shows are outstanding. I only have one exception, and it was the show in Indio, up in the high desert, and that simply because it was an Indian casino concrete hotbox of a venue and the acoustics were echoing and reverbing all over the damn place.

When I saw them on the 'road test' pre-tour leg in '09 when they first started out? At the Roxy in WeHo? Good gawd, you can't imagine how good they were in that small club. Staggering. Shocking. Stupefying.

I don't listen to any of his solo stuff either. I'm just not into cats like him and Vai, and their solo material. Brilliant as they are, all that wankery bores me after a couple minutes.

Joe in the 'foot is a different animal though. We were about ten rows back on his side in '09, and I thought his playing was phenomenal. As was the fret work of Davey Knowles.

Now there's an understatement. Davey Knowles was friggin' brilliant.
