Well, I give him an A for effort.

I'll probably never listen to it again, but it's something.

I had to laugh at his "awww, look out!"

    Damn, he loves that line.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Kinda cool that Mike has joined Dave's solo band, as a dancer - I saw him dancing in the video! Dave's voice can sound good in a jazz context, but in the low register, ex: Big Bad Bill. On this song, it sounds terrible. Dave needs a Ted Templeman to tell him what to do and not to do. First step: quit smoking.

Well, this is clearly Dave's thing going-forward. He loves the classics and wants to be the modern-era Sinatra.

Wonder if he had to ask permission from anyone to use the HFT footage. Probably not.

Does Dave think this version will catch-on somehow? That New Yorkers will see it as a new anthem, or something?

Or is he doing stuff he just enjoys, not worrying about his "brand" or commercial appeal? All speculation until Dave joins this board for a live conversation!

These Roth shows are, well...they're so Dave in one way, and so seemingly pointless in another.

Digital media for the sake of digital media, or is there an end game?

I think DLR is just releasing anything that comes to mind. If you like it, great. If you hate it, he probably thinks that's great too.

Even he hasn't done enough Peruvian nose candy to think that many people are too interested in him scatting over an old Broadway tune.

It seems that Dave, Sam and Wolf want to create. Good for them. I have to hand it to Dave for embracing the immediacy of the Internet -- he's getting stuff out there.

You're probably right. He's just enjoying himself and not taking himself too seriously it seems.

If I'm not mistaken, Dave didn't have anything to do with this video -- the audio track is from the last Roth Show and mdk created a video for it.

mdk, you will be hearing from the VH lawyers regarding the HFT footage.

It has The Roth Show logo on it though, right?

    Or was that lifted too?

I don't hate it. His radio show was often interesting, to a degree. I like that he's keeping active, but again, to what end? Staying relevant is great, if you're planning on something. I kinda hope it's the EEAS thing, to be honest. Heck, I'll happily go see 'em at a club on Sunset. With bells on, even.

Kinda sucks that the same group of guys keep shutting down threads. Sammy doing a 90 minute interview with Dan Rather is fairly large Van Halen related stuff. Wish my local cable provider had AXS TV. Would rather watch it live, instead of reading off the 'net afterward.
