    Default ATBL Love -- Vai and yngwie

    I know these guys are technically amazing . . . but this reinforces for me why EVH is the man. I will take his feel any day over more speed and notes.

    And, sorry about typo in title!

    I agree. That was awful.

    I agree, but I think it is cool they chose a VH song to jam to.

    Vai played ATBL quite a bit closer to the original back on the 86 and 88 DLR tours. Ed's version is still miles better with more feel.

    ++++

    Really this new video was just a shredfest and they weren't to worried about playing it like the original. Mostly just having fun.

    Maybe how I feel is how old-school blues-based rockers feel when EVH takes on their tunes and adds tapping, etc.?

    Good god that was terrible.

    It's a shame that Ed even gets lumped in with these guys because he's nothing like them...
    The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

    I think Yngwie is laughably overrated. He's almost like a comedic parody of an 80's shredder. Maybe Vinnie Vincent Invasion takes the joke to an even further level.

    When it comes to that, it doesn't get better than this.

    No soul.. no feel.. just a seemingly endless stream of speed.

    Not sure of the day, but I think it was in the month of Shreduary.
