Exclamation Donations Etc. - PayPal sucks....we will do things differently this year! - READ!

So PayPal decided that the few donations I get from JamToThis.com, (we're talking like maybe $50-$100 a year), somehow has violated their stupid terms of service because it's a site that deals with torrenting, and blah blah. I guess they decided to go after all the torrent sites, even the ones like JTT that only share unreleased recordings and have lists of who not to share, etc. So basically PayPal kicked me off after 15 years for getting minuscule payments on an inconsequential live trading site, which unfortunately affects THIS site because they both used my same PayPal account.

For now, I am directing the donations (people signing up for the server packages) on here to go to my personal PayPal account. We usually don't get many until the big donation drive so it will probably be like less than $100 in the next eight months. Since I can no longer transfer to my bank because they screwed my other account, I have to request a check from them now and that takes 7-10 days and maybe longer who knows, so we will be done with the PayPal for the big server drive in August. I will not want to wait NOR trust that PayPal will send me a $4,000 check, so that's why I'm going to GoFundMe. And frankly after their treatment after 15 years, they can suck it, I don't want to give them anymore business than I have to. It will require more manual work on my end, but I'm fine with that. I think you guys will find it easier too.

So for this year we will use go GoFundMe. You will donate on a link that will be provided here, and that way I can transfer it to my bank account, and you don't even need a PayPal account to use it. It will be much nicer and smoother for you guys that way, and it even shows the amount that has been donated so everyone will know where we're at. You will of course have to tell me when you've donated so I can update your subscription...but that's easy enough. More info on how we're going to use it as we get closer to the server drive at the end of the summer.

That's what's going on, just wanted to keep everyone in the loop. I have to set up such a fund now for JTT so that site can continue to take donations, we don't have a subscription service like ours here over there, so I'll be testing how good GoFundMe works with that site.

    Thanks for reading.

Brett I just wanted to say thank you for running this place. This last year has been one of the shittiiest in my life and the outpouring of support I got when I told you guysreally took me aback.

So whatever you need, how you need it we're keeping this motherfucker open. If I have to pay it myself.

Thanks to you and all the red, purple and green guys. (Mods)

Just curious, but is this paypal stuff related to the class action email they sent out last week. Seems like there is a big shake up going on over there.

Right but most use the subscribing thing on here and that takes fees. That doesn't go through as a gift.

No idea. But maybe they're cracking down who knows. I'm pretty pissed because what they did totally fucked me. Like Google. Fuck them both as far as I'm concerned.

Either way there aren't many options for us now. GoFundMe takes about 8% per donation. So on $30 it's like what a couple bucks? Could be worse.

You need to create an OU$81.02 package to cover the new fees.
