One of my favorite boots. Was just listening to my cd of this in the truck last week, with the soundcheck. Love the instrumental version of Voodoo Queen/Mean Street they did for the soundcheck at this gig.

With all due respect to the later versions of the band, from this time period through 1982, this band was untouchable live. Their musicianship and chemistry allowed them to always teeter on the edge but never go completely off the rails. The epitome of a band "falling down the stairs and always landing on their feet".

This is my favorite boot. I remember when I first bought it I thought "my god, these guys are out of control! This is awesome!"

It's so raw with Ed going crazy with the bar, Al just being a monster, Mike screaming, and Dave's vocals are pretty rough, but it's great. To me it epitomizes what hard rock should be
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

Yeah, it's funny, on the soundcheck Dave's and Mike's voices actually sound better on ATBL and On Fire lol. I can imagine Dave, especially, imbibing in "spirits" a little too much between the time of the soundcheck and the time of the gig.

The band at their face-melting best. My first and only VH boot I ever owned. Mind was completely blown the first time I heard it.

Me too. I joined the Army back in the day to download all of Cato's VH/DLR stuff. I am sure I have the dance mix version of Stand Up! on a computer somewhere in the house.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!
