Buffalo - my town. A friend of a friend works on the band's road crew; through whom i was able to spend a few minutes with each member. Actually the most time was spent with Wolf; actually talked about hockey alot. Janie was also very nice; made a few jokes about their dog and had them both laughing (ed & Janie) which was easily a highlight of my life.

and I literally mean a few minutes, at most, but enough to talk to them quickly

Well let's see, at an average of over $50 less per ticket and 23 less shows than Taylor Swift they were number 40
Luke Bryan, who is a little less per show than VH, but did 33 more shows and he's top 15

So wouldn't it stand to say, at the average VH ticket price, if they played 30 more shows they would be just outside the top ten

But yeah this line up is stale, they can't do it anymore, the tour was a failure

    Please

I'll never understand why some want to paint this tour as a failure, it simply was not and that's a fact

They did their gross by city, not show, on the entire chart.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

The smartest way to look at this is just to compare VH to VH on a PER SHOW gross...

They are down from 2012... per show the attendance decreased 34%

    2012: 49 shows / total $54 million gross / $1,102,000 per show
    2015: 39 shows / total $26 million gross / $722,222 per show

BUT... Maybe the expenses were less in 2015, compared to 2012

They definitely sold more Alcohol in the outdoor summer sheds!

And for all of those who say DLR cannot sing, have you seen DL in the past decade? Joe Elliot lost his voice years ago, sounds like shit live, and they are still selling tickets. Good opening acts, keep the ticket prices reasonable, it's not that complicated.
    I actually had fun seeing Lep. I met them too. I'm the dude in the blue Lacoste shirt;

AC/DC (with 2 missing members) is almost 4 times the Gross as the next hard rock band... Unreal

Arenas and sheds are a little different too.

And, 99.99% of bands get less popular as time goes on, it's just how it goes. When they go out again, no matter who is on the band, it will gross less than in 2015, unless that is the baseline.

KISS would be a good one to look at for that, they had huge reunion tours (bigger than VH's obviously), released a new album, and then just did nostalgia tour after nostalgia tour.

That's what VH is doing and will continue to do more than likely. Go out every few summers and tickle the strings for crowds of parents and their kids.
