Those numbers are not great... kinda surprised.

Average ticket was $69, they need that up near $100 a head

Eddie won't be too happy with this Gross, which might be a good thing

    Nitpick: $28 million (39 shows X $722,222 per show).

$26M from 39 shows; with very little overhead, is alot more profitable than you think. A few mil after expense for each member for 6 months is very good for them....that's the appeal of playing sheds....

There is a second list that comes out in Billboard Mag which is THE REAL ONE... it's the Profit List... VH came in 4th place on that list in 2012.

This "Gross" list doesn't subtract EXPENSES... crew, equip, marketing, travel etc (which vary greatly from act to act) and.... include OTHER sources of revenue like Merch and other product lines.

Only one number under Motley Crue but The Crue did 57 shows.....VH 39.....that's a difference of 18 shows.

VH also had a slightly higher average attendance # so it means they did better than The Crue. And The Crue made a big deal out of it being there final farewell tour and had Alice Cooper opening up.

So all things considered its not too shabby. Have to look at these things realistically without prejudiced perspective.

Let's not start rooting for things to go in the shitter again.

Noticed that they beat out Motley Crue with 18 less shows. Leppard was surprising

A few mil is nothing to sneer at but a few mil is also nothing, to guys that are used to making much more...and have much more in the bank, already.

Understand this: WE look at it like a success but Ed won't.

If he got off his ass and recorded something new then maybe he could bitch. Oh, and stop bitching unnecessarily

They only played 40 shows. Average 10,500 tickets sold per show. Average gross per show 722,000. They used a "bare bones" stage setup to keep costs down. Touring without any new music being released, no big name opening band. Considering all of the above, I think the figures are good. What do they need to do for the next tour? No, Sam is not the answer. They need to keep ticket prices lower (Azoff is a greedy bastard who was so proud of himself for being the manager of the first band, The Eagles, that could charge over $100 for tickets decades ago). Get a better known opening act like Boston, Styx, etc. Release a new cd before the tour. Get somebody smarter to book the dates for them (play Va Beach for the first time since 98 ilo Raleigh, why play in a open field in some small city in Canada?). The main problem with this tour was the ticket prices were too high.

    depends on what they expected...

and the final $26m is all relative to the # of shows and ticket price, etc, etc...

Def Leppard is at $40m but nearly double shows (71), same per show average attendance (10k) and less per show price ($52)
