Anyone know anything about this?

    (From http://www.pagesix.com/cindyadams/4648.htm)

CELEBRITIES still eager to help Ground Zero charities might work with one of those services where you can get guys like rocker Eddie Van Halen, actor John Goodman, snake-oil salesman Johnnie Cochran to wake you up in the morning. Michael Anderson, who played the dancing dwarf on "Twin Peaks," records answering machine messages for a fee. Says James Earl Jones: "People always want me to make a tape for their answering machines. I'll do one if a fan donates to a worthy charity."
Meanwhile, Winona Ryder got Anthony Hopkins to do his spooky Hannibal Lechter shtick for her machine. Keanu Reeves' own message once said: "Leave a message and your number. I ... uh ... lost my phone book." While in the can, Tommy Lee "called home and sang into the machine because I had no facilities in jail to record the melodies I was writing." And there was the time Matthew Perry's machine told him: "It's Bruce Willis. Call me back or I'll burn your house down." Perry called back.

How about Eddie waking up Dave in the morning and asking him to come down and jam?

That would be pretty cool to have Eddie call up someone and then put the phone next to his amp and play 'Eruption' or something.

You guys should know better by now... the only time anyone ever hears from Ed is when he's trying to pedal some new piece of junk guitar or amplifier. On top of that, he doesn't even show up at NAMM this year - he makes some gay video and considers that be good enough. Talk about no respect.

Gee, the first thing I would want to do while having cancer is go to the Namm show and get bombarded with questions about the current status or non-status of my band. That sounds like a fun day. I can see Eddie now... "Yeah, I skipped my chemo treatment this morning and have been vomiting and such but I just wanted to come to the NAMM show and push my product. Screw my family and my health, I'm here to appease some fans." I can understand your frustration and I'm dissapointed in their lack of good decision making and public relations skills, but the man has been sick. VH has given me remarkable music from 1978-1996 and I consider it a blessing and a luxury to get any more than that. Try to get your spirits up and maybe things will get better. Have a great day.

Personally, I think someone needs to make a wake up call to Eddie - and not just to remind him of his 8A tee-time, either!

    (NOTE: comma added by me)

Record their fans? Does that mean I'm the new lead singer of Van Halen? Rockin!
