Default :::An Open Letter To Wolf

I am addressing this thread to Wolf, because he's said to read the forums every so often.

This thread is my entreat to y'all coming out with some new music, very soon.

Like a lot of fans, I was extremely disappointed at the lack of new music in 2015. And it isn't because I feel as though I am owed something.

Been a fan since 1982, when Diver Down was released. Can remember boarding a bus on a fieldtrip, with Little Guitars playing.

Then came Jump, Panama, and I'll Wait.

From that point on, I became a lifelong Van Halen fan.

People are born. People die. But your music is forever...

People get married. People split. But Van Halen's music is enduring...

I listen to the same songs daily, as if I were listening to them for the first time. I'm in my 40's, but when i'm listening to VH, it's like i'm a kid again. Be sure that when ADKOT came out, I was hassling my local record store regularly...be the first to have ADKOT in hand! Just as I did as a kid.

One of the big things that separate Van Halen from other rock bands, is the musicianship that y'all exhibit. In this, you are truly in a class all your own, for as much as many people can play, in their perfection there's no soul. Not so with Van Halen.

There are so many elements to each song; so many intricacies. I don't play an instrument, so I can't describe what I hear like others can.

No other band has your style, your soul, or the depth behind your art. What Ed describes as "brown sound" is indeed majestic!

Like I said: as with most fans, I don't feel that you owe me anything. Just wish y'all would release something, for the sake of the music you make.

And, in spite of the fact that I'm a longtime fan, my favorite stuff on your last album was likely new material: You & Your Blues; As Is; The Trouble With Never.

In 2015, y'all were at the top of your game. You continually raise the bar, ever higher.

Hope to be hearing from the band soon.

    Thanks for your time.

Seconded. Didn't make it to any of the shows (not in US), and thought a lot of the talk of Ed being shit-hot again sounded like hype to my jaded, cynical ears. But I was wrong. Been youtubing the Bowl stuff and I repeatedly find myself saying to myself: "Self, that was good. Really fucking good." Ed's tone is better, Dave sounds way better than he did from the onset of the tour and Alex is just a beast. A machine. A rock.

Oh, and you're no slouch either. Really like what you brought to the table and you truly rose to the occasion. I know you've got your own thing - and I'm quite eager to hear it - but you obviously can be in two bands and if anybody can make this happen, it's you.

    Either way, cheers my dude.

    Wolf...

    Have your pops call Mike.

You're going to be busy for a bit.

CVH needs to happen. You know it, I know it, and we all know it.

    Thanks.

    Wolf,

I am so glad that you and Janie were able to save your father's life and legacy. He is such a gifted human being. He has clearly passed along to you his love of and ability to play music, but more importantly his heart. I am so proud of the music that your father has created with all of the people with whom he has created it--especially you. As a father, it is so uplifting yet humbling to watch your child flourish in their talents and dreams. It is even more so when it overlaps with your own passion in life. You are a lucky young man to have such loving parents. May life continue to bless you with the opportunity to share with the rest of us your talents and passion.

We tease, bicker, tussle, and insult on this site. Sometimes we go too far with one another and with the band that adorns your family name. We forget sometimes that we are all human, famous, infamous, or ordinary. Some of us prefer the Dave era and some of us love the Sammy era. Truth be told, when we aren't all antagonizing each other into entrenched camps, we love it all. We love it all because of your Dad.

Thanks for bringing back the Dave era for all of those who never got to enjoy it or missed it. I now ask that you help your Dad to bury the past with Sammy and bring us the era I love the most. If you can't or won't, no worries here. You are the one who will carry on the name, the music, and the memories. That is a tough road, young man. You will be compared the rest of your life to one of the two people you love the most in this world. Embrace it. Never resent it. Be yourself and you will have made your Mom, Dad, and all of us proud.

    Peace, Wolfgang...1way2rock

Do what you want to do kid, don't let a bunch of old farts try to sway you!
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Wolf, your dad's a musician. Play the multi-platinum albums with Sam! The interest is there.
Tickets will get sold and the "other half" of the fan base will come out in droves. Don't waste any more time!

Hell, just do it to see the looks on their faces^^^!!!

    Wolf,

What is understood need not be discussed. I lost my Dad this year to cancer -- so from personal experience I say enjoy every moment doing whatever you and Eddie want. You don't owe me, or anyone, anything. Enjoy the ride!

    Wolf,

There is nothing to see here that matters in the least. Turn off that device and get back to work on your music.

Wolf I think you do come here . I remember the angry birds tweet, lol. Do what you want but I would suggest satisfying the original fan base before father time takes its toll.

Dear Wolf... This forum can often become crazier than your Dad's band. You're too grounded to be here. Please ignore most of us or your IQ may slip a bit.

I'm pretty grounded. As are most of us on this site.

It's just the soap opera between JD, Jape, and RR that Wolf needs to stay away from.

    That's not fair...

JD and jape are continuing their smear campaign on here. I'll make a remark after they've taken several jabs in multiple threads. Don't drag me into their fuckin' lunacy!!!
Dumb & Drummer are welcome to keep licking each other's nutsacks for all I care. Roth's balls might be clean but Kevin is keeping Julie's even cleaner...
