As much as I love the Dave era, I'll be the first to admit that I never saw VH with him, until the 2007 tour.

All kidding, era bickering, and silliness aside - I'd love to have seen some of those early tours!!! Fair Warning and 1984 in particular!

The FW tour had an incredible setlist! Damn, wish I'd have been old enough to see that tour...

I was 17 when I saw VH twice in 1981 on the FW tour. It was epic.

Heck I was a twerpy 13 when I saw the Fair Warning tour and I was 13 when I saw the WACF tour 8 months earlier. Pretty crazy thinking within 8 months they played 5 dates at the Oakland Coliseum on 2 different tours

Another cool one is the "I Wanna F**K Your Girlfriend" cd bootleg, which is a two disc set from the 1979 tour, with some '78 tunes sprinkled on disc 2.

Love the intro Dave gives for Eddie's Eruption solo - "We brought him all the way from Amsterdam, Holland, just to be with you tonight!" Or something like that. Always thought it was cool

Get the cheerleader outta this thread, this ain't poser territory.

"Fair Warning" is the mighty VH's musical peak, imo.
Those bootlegs, the Oakland vids (that said cheerleader whines, we all should forget about),
just the "edge of your seat" virtuosity and Roth holding the crowd in the palm of his hand...

    Man, THE STAGE, itself!

Top of the mountain & better than Zep!

    No one could touch them.

Those videos & bootlegs really tell the tale.

I almost prefer the Oakland version of Unchained, and that is saying something.

I was only 13 when I saw that show on June 12th 1981 but I`ve got a heck of a memory. I thought Roth said "got myself a brand new Oakland shirt" as they were jamming the intro to STIL but he most likely said scarf if that was the version of STIL that made the video.
