Not sure how FYLT can be viewed as an underrated track as it's always getting love and appreciation. Just because they didn't play it live for a few years prior to Dave coming in) doesn't mean much.

I'd go for Inside with You're No Good and Source of Infection in hot pursuit.
Most underrated on vhlinks is Jump.

Most underrated on vhlinks is Jump.
I would say that Jump and Love Walks In are probably the songs from each era that I really like that get the most hatred on the vhlinks.

    Loss Of Control

Seriously, I'm always championing this song, and was surprised when I came onto the internet how many "hardcore" VH fans don't like this song. Perhaps the greatest example of Ed and Al's unique synchronicity as masterful musicians capable of playing anything. If they had wanted to go in a heavier, harder direction as a band they could've. They certainly would've made speed metal more "musical" than anybody else. I always say THIS is Al's greatest track. His work on the snare, hi hats, ride cymbal, and double kicks are terrific, as are his busy tom fills and COWBELL!

LOC is one of Ed's meanest most evil sounding riffs. He has classic harmonics throughout, one of my all time favorite solos, and the big flanger tinged ending always makes me think of the aftermath of Godzilla having just stomped a city to rubble.

A lot of people seem to hate the vocals. To me, both Dave's lyrics and vocal melody fits the frenetic unhinged pace of the music perfectly, and Mike's comical over the top "too high" cartoon vocals only add to the fun and enhance the song.

Classic Van Halen at their weirdest, least "commercial", and very best!

I'll have to go with In a Simple Rhyme and Light Up The Sky for the Dave years.
And of course, The Seventh Seal and Judgement Day for the Sammy years.
    I'm just here.

I've got the BOBW disc in my car right now that has Feels So Good on it. I seriously don't get the hate for this tune. Sure, it's pop, but it's Van Halen pop, so it still has excellent Al Van Halen drumming, an excellent Ed Van Halen guitar solo, Mike's harmonies and Sam's lyrics are actually some of his better work IMO. Good tune.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

Musically, FSG is top notch. I think a lot of people have a hard time with the overly sappy lyrics.

Yes, they fit the music, but much of the hardcore fan base prefers their Van Halen with a little more ...

The music to FSG isn't so bad, but I despise the keyboard sound that Ed decided to go with. I like Al's cymbal work on the song, and Ed's solo is good, haunting and dramatic.

I also can't stand the lyrics, or the backing vocals on this one.

I don't think I dislike this song as much as WCTBL, Not Enough, CSLY, or HMSI, but it's definitely not far behind my Mount Rushmore of crap VH songs.
