"Look at this mutherfucker's eyes!" - DLR.

I always thought that Bright Lights, Big City was a cover tune... Don't ask me why.
"There's too many people on this basketball that's floating around the sun, who are too afraid to allow themselves to FEEL" - Edward Van Halen
"Van Halen was never about the singer..." - a very wise fan.
"Embrace the past. Live in the moment but keep your eyes on the future, and keep on moving forward..." - Richie Sambora

Own this bad boy on CD, purchased for about 32.00 at an "import" CD store in the city.

It's the Live album we should have gotten.

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the 80 tour as it was the first time I saw the band but the bootlegs from that tour always sound a little sludgy due to the band being tuned down a full step. The 80 tour was one of the only tours up till 2012 where they threw in a few different tunes from time to time (light up the sky ,somebody get me a doctor, on fire , atomic punk, feel your love tonight) and it was on the 80 tour I think it was the Seattle bootleg where Roth said "the first time Van Halen does a keyboard tune" before they launched into ATCWR , 4 yrs before Jump

I bought this bootleg ON CASSETTE at a Record Convention just outside Chicago somewhere around 1990. One of my favorites!
Sings like a bird. Rocks like a pig.

1980 I think was the last full tour in which DLR paid more attention to his vocals than his "performance", he still delivered both.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

I just can't believe that there's not a single official live album from any their first six tours. It's mind-boggling. They have got to be far and away the least documented major rock band in history as far as their live shows. It's so frustrating.

I've never heard a bad performance from the FW tour.

I usually think 1982 is where that started to happen. 1978-1981 is the sweet spot for live/bootlegs. But 82/84 was still epic we know.
