Default NGD: Wolfgang Stealth Special (MIC)

    I'm in love.

Long review incoming after I get a few days with it.

Came in mint condition, only been played a handful of times with plastic still on it. Picked up for $725. The vintage frets I'm adjusting too but I'm actually finding more comfortable. The stainless steel is so smooth and I'm finding myself oversliding/bending, so I'm adjusting. The action was perfect out of the box and there are no fret extrusions that would cut my finger or even be noticeable. I've heard and read that was a HUGE problem with the Chinese Wolfgangs, but no problem here. I'm having a hard time playing it because I just want to stop playing and stare at this piece of art in my hands.

Only thing I need to do now is buy a chrome EVH floyd bridge and nut to replace the black one.

Nice looking guitar!!! Glad you're happy with its looks and feel
I've eyed a few used Stealth guitars here locally as well, but haven't actually played one yet.

Surprised a bit that you had to "adjust" to the vintage frets!? Your AX40 guitar surely has the small frets that Ed used on his EBMM, right? That was initially one of my qualms about them.

I run into that issue with my les Paul. I'll play it for bit then clean it and stare at it. You got a nice one. Stare at it. Play it. Love it.

He's a short demo video.. my playing has just been a bit 'off' since my concussion a few weeks ago but it's better and I'm still recovering.

Panama, I play this so much I use it to compare tones

Please be super critical, I would love to hear how to improve. and yes, I flubbed the ending of the MS intro, should have gone on another pair of taps to be correct, I think.

    Right on, bro!
You already put the strap locks on your Stealth, eh? Good job. Always a treat to hear someone do the Mean Street intro - one of rock guitar's most impressive pieces of music EVER!!!

Great of you to post the clip of your jamming. Hope you'll do more? I'd love to see & hear your EBMM guitars too!

**Edit** I gave the video your first like/thumb's up on YT!

Here's what I would say being super critical. Play along with the recordings. You have the notes right, but your timing is a little off. Playing along with the records will help fix this.

That said, you're better at 19 than I was so just keep playing. You'll get it because you're already off to a good start.

I agree with Yaminub, I would change to chrome. For some reason I can't stand the look of black trems, although I can see why they did it for that guitar, it definitely makes it look stealthier. Still don't like it though, just my opinion.

If there's one thing that's been impacted most since my fall is my sense of time and rhythm. Still getting back to where it was, and hoping going far and above of that. Thank you for your kind words.

No comments on the tone? I'm surprised.

It's hard to judge tone through Internet clips. The reason I say this is that I've recorded myself and uploaded it and thought it didn't sound like what it did in person. So it's hard to judge.

What's funny though is that the recording sounded pretty much like yours, so I'm assuming that you sound like I do in person which is good.

I have a friend who almost died in a fall and basically had to learn how to live again so I have an idea of what you're going through. Glad to see you're back playing. He's gotten back to running competitively so you can definitely get back to what you were doing before too. Just stay positive and keep working!

I commented on your Mean Street video before you added the Panama one to your post!
Great job on that one too, and Panama is my favorite VH song.

You're more than well on your way, as GTSOTR remarked. Keep at it, keep loving it, and keep sharing with us!!! You're one of those guys who not only knows guitars, talks guitars, and tinkers with guitars - you actually PLAY and SHARE on here. That immediately commands my admiration and respect, moreso than the dudes who talk a big game, yet have never shown us anything...

As far as the tone? Let's just say that it's quite impressive! Bravo all around

I'm playing through a Fender Mustang modelling amp. I know a few members here bought one and returned it within the week because they couldn't pull something good out of it. My only complaint is mine only has one speaker. I've got dozen of quality presets dialed in, I think it's the reason I haven't made another amp purchase yet. I use this tone for CVH stuff and I have a really great 93-95 live tone aswell for SVH. It gets the job done.
Thanks for the kind comments. I'll post more soon. Maybe I'll do a whole cover of Dirty Movies this weekend.
