Default Neil Peart announces he is a retired drummer is it time for VH to retire?

Neil Peart announced that he is a retired drummer- it looks like Rush is officially over, should VH do the same?
At least Rush fans get a direct quote from the band......
P.S. He is only 63 about the same age as the original VH band.

Why should they? Stones still play they're all a hell of a lot older so is Aerosmith, Kiss, etc.

    Not really VH's style.

VH the band still has it as a live band. I still think they should continue to tour. There are still bands with older members that still tour regularly.

It all depends on how they feel. If they're healthy and still enjoy it, there's no need to stop, because VH still put on a helluva tour this summer.

It doesn't seem to me that Alex is ready to retire. Speaking strictly as an outsider, of course.
This summer's tour was pretty rockin', and Al was beating the hell out of that kit.

Eddie used to say he'd play music until he literally dropped. After all he's been through/gone through/lived through, I'm inclined to believe him! Sine he and Al are joined at the hip, musically, I see no reason for either of them to stop now.

I just heard on the radio today (The Rock Report) that Geddy was thinking about doing a solo album. Thought I heard them say he worked with some cat named Brian Mink when Neil(and the band) was on hiatus years ago. He was probably going to work with him again. The report mentioned nothing about Neil.

I thought his name was Ben Mink ... and that he's worked w/Rush recently too, I thought I heard... anyway that's a good album, Geddy's solo album. I'm down w/more of that if he's not gonna be doing Rush.

Rush did a special on Sirius/XM classic rewind where only geddy and Alex were there. Maybe Neil just has had enough of them or that life.

He would be the one to not show up whether he was retiring or not. He doesn't do the "meet and greet" things with Geddy and Alex for instance.

Part of the reasons that Neil is retiring is that he has a young family that he doesn't like being away from, which is understandable when you look at his past and also he is having problems with his hands. Drumming has taken it toll on him physically and I guess he's had enough.

"For some reason people love to complain about everything. The internet has made it easy for people to do that. Shut the fuck up and get a life, or show me how good you can do it."- Edward Van Halen

"A lot of people ask me which Van Halen singer was better. You can't compare them. It's like asking which guitarist is better. Nobody is better than anybody. Every player is their own person."-Edward Van Halen

"I do like Eddie Van Halen as a player. He gets it right quite often." -Paul McCartney
