Didn't know he had any. He's defined by LZ, nothing he has done outside of it is noteworthy in my opinion.

I love Page, but The Firm and Outrider and some of the other stuff just doesn't float my boat.

Edit: I really liked Coverdale/Page, so I take it back.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I liked The Firm, but it was spotty material. I had both The Firm albums, and the only thing I came away with was it made me a Tony Franklin fan (fretless bass player).

One of my high school friend's father did the album cover artwork for The Firm's first album. He said it was disappointing because he was a big fan of Jimmy Page, and the times he met him as the album was being done, JP was so fucked up on pills and alcohol that he was barely coherent. Carrying around a bag of pills and munching them like candy. My friend's dad was no stranger to drugs having done his fair share in London in the 60's but even so he was stunned at how bad Page was. Sometimes it's better to not meet your heroes I guess.

    I really like The Firm.

Closer was an amazing riff & song.
Satisfaction Guaranteed is just gorgeous, love that fade in droning intro melody.
Love the solo in that song, as well.
Love his use of the B bender, his new tone (telecaster, stratocaster?)

He was fucked up & sloppy, yet his ideas & creativity were still so potent.
Page was more "off the wall" in some ways, during this time.

"Satisfaction Guaranteed" is all kinds of awesome. There was another one I recall really liking, was on a 12" "Radioactive" single - a live song, not on the album. Should dig that one out see if I still like it!

and the song is "Live In Peace", which would appear on their second album Mean Business. Don't think I've ever heard the studio version as I never picked that album up. How does it compare to the first album?
