Default TC mini pedals & other board related advice.

This is to all the owners of TC Electronic pedals, particularly their "mini" line...

Downsizing my pedal board recently and in the weeks to come. I'm looking to get the HoF Mini reverb. I noticed that it comes pre-loaded with a Hall patch/setting. I like the fact that it's tiny and only has one knob. Just curious how easy it is to load a plate reverb, for example? I'd be using the USB method, as I don't want to do the beaming with a smart phone. Is it really as simple as their website suggests? Effect trails when it's switched off, etc.?

Also interested in the Corona mini Chorus. I'd be buying that to replace my Boss CH-1, for its smaller size and preferred switch location. Any one of you tried that one out? How does it sound straight with its factory setting?

Beaming with the phone is easiest way, you can try a whole stack of different reverbs really quickly.

Thanks for the reply, Cal, yet I mentioned not owning a smart phone.
I'm more keen on using the tone print editor function via USB, but obviously don't have experience in that area yet. Hence, the thread and questions about the topic.

Something occurred to me the other day... Remember that story where Eddie said VH were playing an early show in England, where "some kid just reached up and pulled the pickup out of my guitar!?" I was thinking about the TC pedals and phone beaming thing. What a drag it would be to have some punk at a gig, walk by your pedal board, and beam a bunch of bogus settings into your pedals, while you're off chatting up the waitress etc.! LOL.

While we're at it, has anyone tried the new Crybaby Mini pedal?
It's supposedly half the size of a regular wah, and has some internal trim pots for added features. Sounds like something I might be interest in - mainly because of the size aspect.

    Thoughts?

Paul Gilbert has an awesome plate reverb Tone Print for the HOF inspired by early VH verb. Hint of modulation on it too. I dig it.

I have the normal size hall of fame and really like it. It's also incredibly easy to transfer any stock/downloadable Toneprint to it via USB. It can be a bit cumbersome once you start trying to make your own though. The Paul Gilbert Oh That's Nice Toneprint sounds awesome too as mentioned above. I haven't tried the Corona Chorus but it generally gets really great reviews.

I have both the HOF and Corona Minis. I even got two HOFs because I'm about to start running a Marshall Plexi and my EVH 100S into one cab, and want reverb for both heads - through the loops.

The issue with Tone Print is that there are no samples to listen to on the phone app and very few on the Tone Print website. You have to download most of them, one at a time, to hear them. Total pain in the ass. Unfortunately, after a lot of searching, I forgot to write down the one I ended up using in my first HOF. So when my second one arrived, I couldn't find the Tone Print I wanted. But the one that came with it is ok.

I'm not real picky about reverb, but I don't like the Paul Gilbert one and am not in love with the Corona either. But then I don't use the chorus too much either. I got the last HOF in new condition for $50 delivered, so it's hard to lose on that one. I run the Corona on my pedalboard and the HOFs in the loops of the two heads I use through one cab. Well, that's the goal anyway. Still waiting on my Metropoulos Head Master to arrive so I can actually pull this off.

Thanks very much for the replies and details, guys!
Much appreciated - advice for a player, coming from other actual players.

The CB Mini is awesome! You really need to try it first to see if you can get used to the size as it does feel weird but the real sound is there.

I appreciate the input, so to speak! Thanks.

Is it really half the size of a regular Dunlop wah pedal though? I've never seen a side by side comparison photo.

Actually looks a bit smaller than half the size. It really is tiny compared to the original.

I imagine that would take some getting used to, but a great concept (size wise) in theory. Very pedal board friendly.

I've been seeing an eq pedal that is programmable and has 4 presets on it, with the ability to scroll through them as needed.
Seems like a great idea! Very handy for setting up different tones while keeping your gain intact. New Source Audio. Any guys out there have experience with this?
