    Default How Much $$$?

I got this idea today at work...

How much money do you think you've spent on music gear/equipment over the years? I'm mainly gearing (pun intended) towards the guitar slingers, but I guess anyone can play. Try to tally up all the toys/axes/pedals/amps etc., and TRY to come up with a ballpark figure.

Let's not factor in stuff like picks, strings, and straps.
Bonus points for those who list their gear past or present, with prices spent. Whether bought new or used, let's see what we come up with!

I'm the world's worst guitarist. That said - 2 cheap crappy acoustics both under $100 ( one a gift from my grandfather 30 years ago). One Yamaha electric used $300-400 (can't remember the model). One Epiphone Les Paul $300 (my current guitar). Orange crush 12L $150. I used to have another bedroom amp about the same price. Can't remember the make.

All up that's less than $1000. But I'm a terrible guitarist and can't really justify spending more

I have spent about $22500 in the last five years alone
Prior to that, my younger brother stole 12 guitars from me. Each an average of $700 I'd say. Plus, he stole, 2 full sound systems and a light board and several racks of lights. That was about $10,000 that I can remember. I have 2 full Marshall stacks that have gone untouched since about 1989. A 1964 Fender Strat all original, a 76 LP all original. Had and lost a lot of awesome women . . . They where priceless in many cases. So, I don't know man. A lot of money, a lot of heartbreak, a lot of good times, and a lot of coke from the younger, stupid days.
I just don't know how much much it all cost

TBH, if I had a salaried job I'd probably spend a lot more. But as a freelance photographer, any extra cash I have goes back into the business and on photo gear.

    Some great answers so far!
Let's keep them coming, and for those who already have, if anything else comes to mind - add them. Let's try to get a running tally of the $$$ which was kind of the point of the thread! LOL.
