    Default Eagles of Death Metal

This has nothing to do with the Paris attacks, so I didn't want to put this into a serious/news thread even though Eagles of Death Metal were on the bill at the concert venue where the hostages are. And if there's already a thread for this band, please merge.

I had not heard of the band, so I looked them up and liked what I heard, but it was just two songs. Are their albums worth picking up?

EODM are Josh Homme's fun tongue in cheek side project.

Josh is the leader and singer of Queens of the Stone Age... Who have headlined Coachella and other massive festivals...

Some of their music is great... The project is supposed to be a semi parody act.

Josh is married to major solo artist/singer Brody Dalle, ex Distillers lead singer.

That makes sense then. I like Queens of the Stone Age.

Listen to that groove. I can't believe I had no idea about them.

Be careful Uncle C. Not sure if Dave Grohl approves of EODM yet. It's a slippery slope.

Yeah, this is funny. Of course it has no bearing on the seriousness of the attacks but when I kept hearing on the news it was a death metal band playing I pictured one of those random Scandinavian black metal bands.

    Nope.

One of my favorite bands of all time, ISIS, had a similar misfortune.

The fucking terrorist group stole their name, and then the band was forced to endure
    threats on their FB page.

Yeah I was thinking this is the most press EODM have got in their career. not good though.

Also had Disney Radio on in the car this morning (kids request, not mine ;-) they had a little girl caller on the phone and 99% sure the DJ called her Isis. Yikes... Def want a name change at this point. Quick stats on that name in the US ...

Where i worked, there was a maternity store called "Isis" right next to our's.

It went out of business about a 6 months before the terrorist group was noticed.
Everyone was so upset they went under, yet maybe it was a blessing in disguise!
