Default New Splawn Streetrod on the way!

Well, I've been saving some pennies, and pulled the trigger on a Streetrod head last night. I've been going back and forth with Scott about it for a bit. It's the same as a Quickrod, but only 50 watts, plus a half power switch. It also has the low volume knob on the back. I think it'll be much more useful to me both at home and playing out. Sound guys are always complaining about stage volume! Can't wait to get the thing delivered!

Splawn amps have a really good reputation, and the ones I've heard have sounded amazing!
New equipment day is always a fun thing. Hope you're happy with your new purchase. The specs sound practical for you.

Hope you'll do a video demo when you get comfy with it? I'd like to see & hear it. Keep us posted!

I`m betting you`ll really dig the Splawn. Even though I sold my Quick Rod and Super Sport early this year they were great amps and I do miss them from time to time as I do with a ton of other gear I`ve sold over the last 20yrs. The volume loop control is a really cool feature , Enjoy

    What's the volume loop control?
Sorry, but I'm a newbie when it comes to those amps, and have never played through one...

It's almost like an attenuator. Gets you good tones at bedroom volumes.

Exactly , when I first got my Super Sport 3yrs ago I didn`t care for the volume loop at all , made the amp sound raspy and brittle to my ears so I used the Ultimate Attenuator and a Tube Screamer type clean boost and it sounded fantastic , Warren D and Jake E Lee tone for days . So maybe a year after that I decided to try using the volume loop again and I could`t really tell any difference in tone now vs using the UA and on top of that the master volume also sounded great so maybe my ears just changed a bit over a year. Either way using the volume loop or master volume with the street rod I`m sure you`ll get some good tones at low volumes

Scott shipped it out today. I should get it Friday. He also hooked me up with 2 Celestion Creambacks for a great price!

Can't wait to hear it! I'm betting that you feel the same? LOL.

Looking forward to your thoughts about how it sounds/reacts & feels, compared to the 5150 III.
