    Default Alternate/Early VH recordings?

Hey there, guys/gals/fans/trolls/nut jobs... I kid, I kid. Say it isn't so, Joe!!!

I was listening to some early bootleg cds, and started thinking about the multiple times VH must've played various songs in their early career. I'm talking pre-VHI. Quite possibly because of the recent interest in the VH Rising book!

There's a few songs in particular that I'm wondering about. How many known recordings/bootlegs are there for songs like No More Waiting, Get the Show on the Road, I Wanna Be Your Lover, and Honolulu Baby?

There's a few other tunes on the Warner Bros. demos that I've never heard live, although VH probably (duh) had them in their arsenal at the time. Any links to live/alternate versions of those tunes I mentioned^^^, or any of the other gems from the "That's All, Folks" boot?

I bought VH Rising on Kindle and was thinking something similar. Wouldn't it be cool if VH used the book as a setlist and recorded those tunes?

I think if I were a producer for VH, I'd have them rehearse a bunch of these tunes, drop them into a small club under a false name and record it. Perhaps do this more than once with different band names and completely different songs at each.

I'm pretty sure Ed would never go for it, but damn that would be awesome!

So really? There's only one version of No More Waiting that's been taped? Seems pretty tight (and a good song) for them to only have ever played it live, once!?

No bootlegs of Get the Show on the Road? I'd have thought they would've played that baby all the time! One of my favorite VH unreleased songs

Only one live recording of Honolulu Baby? That song, to me, has a lot of early VH humor! Love to hear a cleaner version of it.

Some of my favorites are "Believe Me", "Women in Love" original although I still love the VHII version and "Eyes of the Night".

To have the properly primed crowd and a full house, perhaps they could bill themselves as (and in cooperation with) the Atomic Punks.

Believe Me also exists as 'Take It Back'. I think I've heard 2 live versions, and one studio version on the Demo Daze bootleg. much better live imo

I can't remember if I've heard just one or 2 versions of Eyes Of The Night. it was/both were live in any case. wish they'd done a studio recording of that

    Default Alternate/Early VH recordings?

I know they played No More Waiting (it was also called Show No Mercy) at Magic Mountain after they got signed but before they recorded VH 1.

I'll have to try and look for that one!

Still surprised that some of the other tunes I mentioned, haven't seemed to crop up more in bootlegs etc.
"Get the Show on the Road", to me, is a blazing mo-fo. Right up there with Romeo Delight, IMO. I'm shocked that it wasn't one of their staple tunes in the early days!!!

I take it back (no pun intended). Magic Mountain was after VH 1 was recorded.

They opened with GTSOTR in '77 at the Whisky. Same show that had "The Shape You're In." They also played "Young and Wild" that night.
