    Default Evh LBX vid

    Found this on YouTube.

Got to say I'm impressed with the sound. Nice thick tone.

That LBX sounds great, less compression it seems than either its big brother or the Peavey. The Peavey is a nice amp too, great price and a lot of features.

The EVH series of amps all sound so good. I'd be all over the LBX if it had a clean channel.

    Piss on the peavey
    Fender/EVH has far surpassed them

    Default Evh LBX vid

The Fender shit is also like double or triple the price. I can't afford them, just way out of my price range. So I make due with my ancient original 5150.

I've heard that. It's not like they only work on one thing at a time and don't start anything else until the latest one goes to market. I didn't pay much attention, as I have all the amps i ever wanted, so I have no need for an LBX in any variation.

Listening to both amps, the EVH sounds better. That said, they are both kind of a rip off. For that money, yeah an old school 5150 off craigslist, or if I want more flexability, a Carvin V3 micro, which I A/B's against my 5150 II (before I sold it) and it more then held it's own at usable volumes. Dropping $700 on any 15watt amp is kind of absurd unless you have money to burn.

I was thinking the same thing^^^. The LBX is pretty expensive for the wattage and limited features, IMO.
It does sound killer, which is why I have no doubt that many folks will snatch them up. The Peavey still sounds wicked and has a ton more features and tone shaping options.

Tough call, but I'm still going to wait and see what else comes down the pipeline...
