Default Van Halen Kicked Ass in 2015: Share Your Story

Hey guys and gals. With the 2015 tour winding down I thought it’d be a cool idea to have a thread recapping what a kick-ass year it’s been in VH fandom. Not only did we get a live album release, we got great HD footage of the band performing on THREE major TV shows and have had a really solid tour with an absolutely stellar setlist.

So, I thought it’d be cool to share our VH experiences here. Did you meet Eddie in an airport like Dr5115? Did you attend a once-in-a-lifetime event honoring EVH at the Smithsonian like Kevin Dodds? Did you find a VH guitar pick at a gas station on your way home from the show like DHull5150? Or did you just have an awesome time sharing the concert experience with your friends, kids or significant other? Tell us your 2015 VH stories, cause we may not get another year like this!

...and while you're at it make sure you donate to save VHLinks for 2016. We're almost there!

I posted my experience in the Woodlands thread.. Basically, I stood in front of the stage by myself
while the band warmed up, right before they let the VIP guest down...
Talked to Ed a minute, he gave me his pick.. Ed Al and Wolf were super nice.

And there was the Smithsonian event... I attended that too, and met Ed... and Kevin.. LOL

Crap, I was gonna start a thread like this! Haha
I still can't believe I actually got to see them this summer. I can't believe I managed to record the whole thing on my phone (with pretty decent audio!) so I can relive it again and again.
Plus, my review was posted on VHND, so that was pretty cool. http://www.vhnd.com/2015/07/26/van-halen-st-louis-2015/

30 years as a fan and I've still never managed to be in the same country as a tour, much less the same city as Van Halen. Still,I declare it was a good year to be a VH fan, especially with the magic of YouTube. Now all I need is for them to tour Japan the same week of April 2016 that I'll be there and I can finally see them live.

Went to the Hartford show with my wife and son. It was his first concert and he loved it!! He said his favorite song was 'Ice Cream Man'.
Thank you Van Halen for a great year!!

My kick ass Van Halen experience came from the generosity of Uncle Ted. He provided four free tickets to the Shoreline show. I took the family and we rocked out all night with the boys. The show was incredible and all band members brought their A game. My favorite moments: Drop Dead Legs, Dirty Movies, Unchaind, and Runnin With the Devil and watching both of my kids play air guitar and sing along. A great Summer to be a Van Halen fan.

My Kick Ass story was the Hartford show. Being able to bring my wife and 3 kids to experience Van Halen. There were so many great things about it. Starting off was surprising them at the show with 7th row seats when they thought we were sitting in the 46th row. 2nd was watching my 8 year old daughter singing along to most of the songs. 3rd was watching my 2 teenage sons rock out with smiles ear to ear for 2 solid hours. 4th was having Jeff at VHND put my pics and videos up for the Hartford review article and 5th was sharing the experience here with other Van Halen freaks.
I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.

Ordering the live album, and getting it in the mail. Figuring out what shows I was going to get tickets for. Being 10th row in Holmdel and making eye contact with Eddie and seeing him laugh when he noticed how crazy I was going. Having Perticelli hook up my best friend and his son with great seats in Camden. All the discussions/arguments, etc here about everything VH related. 2015 was an awesome year for us...

Surreal to see VH up close, in my home town, and playing so wickedly!
Neat to hook up with an old high school friend and her husband, for a few beers, before the show.

Also great to have my girlfriend there, as she knows how much it meant to me. And yes, she "allowed" me to stay for the whole show! LOL.

Unfortunately, my GF didn't "allow" me to enjoy the full concert of the 2015 tour, as she isn't
    much into Van Halen.

Then again, i am JD, so i ended up catching two full shows under my other alias!

Photos of you? Nah..., almost as likely as Julie posting a guitar playing clip... Haha.
