    Default Sammy on Fox News

    http://video.foxnews.com/v/449885563...#sp=show-clips

If this was posted, forgive me and go ahead and close the thread.
Talking about his new cookbook, mentions Van Halen "Threw him out" or something along those lines...

That was a neat video. I like seeing Sammy do stuff like that. The pose with the Statue of Liberty costumed person (holding his new cookbook), was pretty funny!
A bit weird that the opening song was RWTD though...

I'm sure they gave some junior associate instructions to lay a bed of music for the intro to the segment. The instructions were "Open with Van Halen music, fade...cue dialog." The guy probably had zero knowledge of which songs were Dave or Sammy.

I was thinking that too, or something very similar.
Par for the course with casual fans, or those who don't really follow the band like we do.

Apart from the weirdness of the opening song, whoever edited that segment did a really good job. Sammy really stood out in NYC, he was dressed total West Coast! Btw, for the people lookin to start some bs, the interviewer baited him with this question: "are you better than Roth?"
Sam's reply: "no, I'm just different."

So... world peace, kumbaya, love thy neighbor, mother theresa, gandhi, etc, etc.

Yeah, I thought the RWTD clip would've fit better right when the interviewer asked Sam about Dave... Otherwise, the music fit perfectly. I thought Sam's reply to the "better?" question was perfectly stated, btw.

It was a fun clip, and cool to see him out and about like that, while being hands on and approachable to the fans.

Pretty dope to look and be like this at 68 years of age. I think everyone can agree with this, at least.

Agreed^^^. He looks good and acts like a guy several years younger.

One thing is for sure. He is a Capitalist in every sense of the word, and I personally respect the shit out of Sammy Hagar for that.

He reminds me of Kevin O'Leary, from "Dragon's Den!" Sam's a musician first, yet his business savvy is second to none.
He's earned the right to make a good living, and enjoy the fruits of his labors. Quite an impressive empire he's got going...

Felt sorry for those two guys in the studio....all I saw was the beautiful woman sitting in the middle.

Sammy seems like an awesome guy to me. I would love to hang out with him. I bet it would be so much fun you would be talking about it for years. And he's 68? W...T....F..... He looks GREAT. What a great way to go through life...he can just walk up to Miss America and say hi.

The people who work on these things frustrate me. My biggest gripe over the years is when they cut away from the guitar player during a solo to show something else...usually the poor neglected lead singer. Drives me crazy...especially since it happens to Eddie so much. The entire point of an instrumental solo is to focus attention on the player....that's the same in classical music when the clarinet player stands up to take a solo too. How do they not know this?

And we were just talking in another thread about the Dance the Night Away live video from 1979 where they put in the wrong clip of Eddie when he plays a squeal. I really think a lot of them have technical knowledge but are pretty clueless about everything else.

He is absolutely not the Donald Trump of rock - have you not read his book?

His dad wasn't rich like Trump's dad - Sammy's dad was a homeless drunk who died in the back of a police car! His mom and his siblings used to go pick fruits on trees to survive, that's how poor they were.

Unlike Donald Trump, he wasn't sent to an elite private high school, he went to the local public high school in Fontana, a destitute city among the poorest in California. Sammy's family didn't have enough money to send him to college. Sam's story is a true American dream story of starting at the very bottom and rising to the top, with only his own work and talent.

    Nothing like Donald Trump.
