Did anyone catch this? They replayed the appearance of VH with DLR on the Grammy's a few years back. How can anyone blame Ed and the guys for being pissed about that, Dave literally mocked Beck during his acceptance speech and acted like a 5 year old child looped up on candy and was flat out embarrassing himself and the band as a whole. Dave is an excellent performer but is completely clueless when it comes to tact.

How many times is this thing going to be brought up?

Dave didn't do ANYTHING wrong. He was being Dave. Beck himself didn't give a rats ass about how he behaved. The VH boys were grasping at straws because they had to find a reason to fire Dave before they could bring in Gary.

My apologies for not doing a search on this, I am relatively new to these boards. I do, however, disagree about Dave not doing anything wrong. Regardless of how Beck felt about it, Dave acted like a punk kid with no respect for anything. It could be that it was just the excuse the guys were looking for and its a hell of an excuse if you ask me. If I were Beck (and didn't weigh 98 pounds soaking wet and have to fight a black belt) I would have turned around bitch slapped him

It was the 96 MTV awards. Not the Grammys.

I also must concur that DLR acted like a jackass at the 96 MTV awards show. He was hyped up, and who could blam him, for thinking he was back where he belonged. But, he was still way out of line. As I was watching it again last night, I felt embarassed for DLR and the boys. I think it would have been a much more important moment in VH history if they would not have spoken and just played Runnin' with the Devil instead. No interviews, just Rock and Roll. People would have crapped their pants and VH would have been back on top of the music scene and Eddie would have been more willing to blow off DLR's crazy antics.

I stand corrected.

I couldn't agree more gman1970 that would have done wonders for them.

Dave should be the host of Jackass. That's a perfect fit for him!
Aside from this, let the music speak, not the musicians.
My first time in the spotlight was from a helicopter.
