seems so long ago now. Hard to believe we were so drawn together as a nation for a time but now we are more fractured than ever.

I'm watching this thing on discovery right now about 9-11 and I'm getting more pissed as this goes on.

I think today should be beat the fuck out a Muslim day. I don't give a fuck about tolerance. 3000 people's lives got ruined and countless families.

Yeah, it even brought together Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth.

Incredibly sad day. Even though there's satisfaction knowing that camel-fucker Bin Laden's last vision was the barrel of a gun with a Navy Seal on the other end, it still doesn't erase the travesty of that day.

I think it's important for us to watch these videos to be reminded of what true tragedy is and what solidarity in America looks like. If anyone needs a reminder, head over to the saved forum section for 9/11 and read through the thread.

I understand the anger and frustration, but we need to make sure we are targeting the right people with our frustration. There's a muslim guy that works about 20 feet away from me and he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

In the meantime, there are plenty of assholes waving the ISIS and Al-Qaeda flags that are just begging to be bitch slapped with the long arm of American justice.

and the sad part is that some of them were born and raised here as non-Muslim.

I hate this day just because it changed everything. Not only for the families affected but every one of us. The migrant issue in Europe is a a cause of this. No 9-11, no trumped up war for Iraq, no early pull out by Obama, no ISIS, no migrants. most likely no shitty nuclear deal with Iran.

    Everything changed.

    Hate this day

hard to keep a dry eye and listen to this. All those brave men and women trying to turn chaos into order. pain into recovery, fear into hope.

God Bless our Fire Fighters, our EMTs our Police Officers, our Military, our medical practicioners and all the common men and women who found an uncommon courage that day

"No early pull-out by Obama?" You call that 'early?" lol Were we supposed to stay there forever?
Actually, it could be argued that if there was no 9/11, there would be no "President Obama."

Anyway, it was a horrific day that will never be forgotten, that's for sure. For us, it will forever be a day of reflection and mourning.
As billy mentioned, we all came together after that tragedy. The country was unified and angry. And, then, of course we looked to our leader...who led us to the wrong country.

This is a really good (hard to say "good" but you know what I mean) documentary on that horrible day. It's raw but not done in a "shock value" way, no politics, no conspiracy theories or agendas. It's hard to watch, but if this doesn't move you then you're probably not human.

    9/11 (2002)

Filmmakers James Hanlon and the Naudet brothers were originally filming Tony Benetatos, a probationary firefighter of the New York City Fire Department assigned to the Engine 7/Ladder 1/Battalion 1 Firehouse on Duane Street in Lower Manhattan with the intention of making a film about the "probie's" first experience as a firefighter. On the morning of September 11, the firehouse, under the direction of Battalion Chief Joseph Pfeifer, was called out on a reported "odor of gas" at Church and Lispenard Streets. Jules rode with Pfeifer to investigate, while Gedeon stayed behind at the firehouse with the "probie."

As the Battalion 1 firefighters examine the supposed gas leak, American Airlines Flight 11 flew overhead. Turning the camera to follow the plane, Jules taped one of only three known recordings of the first plane hitting the North Tower (Tower 1) of the World Trade Center, the others being a video shot by Pavel Hlava and a sequence of still frames taken by Wolfgang Staehle.

The firefighters, under the direction of Chief Pfeifer, were the first responders on the scene, and Jules was allowed to follow the chief during the attempted rescue operation. Jules, Chief Pfeifer and several other FDNY Chiefs were inside the lobby of Tower 1 when Tower 2 was hit by the second aircraft and when Tower 2 eventually collapsed (Gédéon, meanwhile, is back at the firehouse, filming the reactions of Tony Benetatos and the rest of the firefighters from the next shift as they try to deal with the disaster). The film gives various firemen's accounts of the events of the remainder of the day - from the initial crash to the building's collapse to the attempts to rescue survivors from the rubble - as well as the aftermath of the events and those who were lost, including Chief Pfeifer's brother, Engine 33 Lieutenant Kevin Pfeifer.

I actually didn't know that there was more than one recording of the first plane hit... Wow.
