    Here's hoping.

Last time VH played two shows in New York, in 2012, on night two they changed it up a little bit, breaking out The Full Bug. That was also the night that Dave ditched the headset.

I would like to think so. Can you imagine seeing identical videos from tonight's show, complete with Dave's scripted banter? Ouch...
It would be like the RHRN dvd, where the same song is playing, but the outfits and crowd shots have changed! LOL

Here's hoping they break up the set list a bit for you guys. I'm sure you'll have fun either way!

Keep us "posted" on the gig tonight. Cheers

    They didn't.

    So I missed the '98, '04, 07, and '12 tours. No more

Okay......so, after 20 years of waiting for them to come back to the UK after I saw Sammy phone in a performance at Wembley supporting Bon Nobody, i gave up and came to them. Flew in from manchester, England for the show and it was almost like being a teenager again, almost.

The first big plus was that the cab driver who took me from the hotel to the show was a big vh fan, so we talked vh all the way.

On getting to the venue, I had a great time talking to fans who had been around since VHII and the excitement started to build.

Dave came into the seating area before the show to say hello to the disabled fan in the crowd. Very cool.

Once the show was on, it was ON. Finally I understand, why you shouldn't base your Dave opinion on you tube vids. It IS different live. He is still ropey in places, but you just don't notice it as much.

As is usually said in these reviews, if you're last name is Van Halen, you were on fire. The only Eddie slip up was that he broke into ATBL one song too early and forgot it was Panama first. I'm glad I got to see him in this form, he's in incredible playing shape. Now having seen it close up, I'm also convinced that his stage banter with Dave is just that - staged.

Being on Wolf's side, i can hear what he brings to the overall sound. His background vocals are starting to get to the stage where Mikey wouldn't be a huge amount better. His solo spot rendition of When It's love followed by Get Up, really seemed to be a crowd pleaser.

Alex was flawless and the stage banter between him and Dave looks real.

Whilst loving the gig, the audience was only a little younger than the band on average and like everything, it used to be a little bit better in the old days. Even Dave said during ICM that 'These days, everything seems to be breaking down, except my enthusiasm.' It seemed a genuine comment.

Dave also referenced the book '50 Shades of Dave' Not sure I'd want to read that one.

All in all, it was a picturesque venue, a very lively and engaged DLR and a fantastic show, we're just all getting a bit older that's all.

I arranged for the same cab driver to pick me up and he'd sourced some VH in the meantime which he blared out of the speakers in the cab for me while we drove back to the hotel.

I have a ton of video/pics from the 10th row in section B but that will have to wait. Hotel wi-fi is not ready for that kind of upload tonight.

Go see the show and see one of the last great innovators at the top of his game.

Wait....Wolf played Van Hagar songs during his solo spot?

    Please elaborate.

Default My third show, unique perspective

Great show tonight. Maybe best of the three this week. I had the unique ability of roaming throughout the arena since I was working. From orchestra at all angles, to front row---they killed it. I didn't expect a setlist change, but based on MSG last tour, I didn't rule it out. Crowd was into it. Place was PACKED. Now, I have no 'inside info' but, here's what I think. Before I was working orch, I was checking tickets and I saw at least 40-50 that said 'COMP' and some won on radio. There was also a massive groupon discount sale. My supervisor said weeks ago the show wasn't selling...maybe 5000 of 10,000. I am sure there was definitely a great walk-up due to weather, Sat night, great review from Thurs. Just making a comment based on what I saw. Regardless, the show, set, sound and enthusiasm on and off the stage makes this the BEST tour I have seen since 5150 and definitely of the last 3. Keep rocking boys.
