    Default DLR is back

We landed on the moon! But seriously up until this point I can't help but feel something is missing but if the last series of shows is any indication VH is as good as ever with DLR being at the top of his game as well. I can't help but think new music is right around the corner as well. It took them 30 years ADKOT and years of touring and ups and downs but VH is back at the top. I don't think there is a better show to see right now or ever for that matter. Thoughts? What's next? Superbowl? New Music hopefully first. Sky is the limit with this band I feel. Amazing when you think about it.

Sky is the limit for 3 dudes over 60? Hmm not sure I really agree there. I don't think they plan to kill themselves doing anything anymore. There's nothing left to prove to anyone. They make a shit load playing the old hits and I believe that may be enough at this point. Not sure how you can say Dave is on top of his game vocally. It is what it is, hit and miss and definitely way better than 2012 which is a good thing. He looks like he's having fun with the band which is the best thing. I don't get the feeling though anything new is coming musically. I think everyone should enjoy the tour and not expect more than that. You're just setting yourself up to be disappointed and we'll have about 1000 threads about how VH hates the fans.

A new album would be great but if all they do is tour these days, I'm ok with that.

I'd he happy if they tour every summer and maybe release a new single here and there. Maybe do one for a movie?
But maybe Wolf will want to start creating new songs too that aren't Tremonti or a solo album.

I agree. Out with a bang at the Hollywood Bowl - and maybe a concert DVD - then into the sunset for this configuration. The Van Halens are playing too well to hang it up permanently, but can't help but thinking this is it.

I could see a DVD yep. I think there's a good chance IMO for that especially with how good the band sounds. But new music ? I don't know I don't see it. Albums are a lot of work, they don't generate much financially anymore, and do 3 guys in their 60's really want to do that anymore?

A new dvd of this tour would be totally amazing. There needs to be (IMO) a visual document of this incarnation, and they're playing now better than ever.
Maybe sprinkle in some bonus stuff, like a song or two from the opening night of the '07 tour, and the fans would eat it up. That was somewhat historic for VH fans - the reunion (Dave & Eddie) we never really saw coming...

I tend to agree that we aren't going to get any more new music from these guys. Aside from any financial reasons why they would or wouldn't want to undertake a new album, I don't think Ed has any desire to work through new songs with DLR.

I'd be cool with a DVD set and a couple of box sets of 5150 studio stuff (like Jimi's family keep releasing) and they keep touring.

I wouldn't be surprised if they make more new music. The reason? Wolf.

I just more meant it in a positive sense because it's nice to see. I'd really like new music though. I don't think i'm setting myself up to be disapointed. I just would like that. Who wouldn't? Especially the way the band sounds now.

The band to me appears to be at the top of their game right now. 60 years young or whatever. It just appears that way to me.

Wolf doesn't write the songs though, which is where most of the effort goes to. Unless we're going to get another plunge into the vaults.
