    Default Franky pickup positioning

Has anyone repositioned the pickup on their Franky builds? I had my first full band rehearsal last night with it, and noticed that the high strings (B and E) seemed very bright. I'm wondering if this could be caused by the pickup angle, where it's closer to the bridge on the high strings? Also, what's the recommended distance of the pickup from the strings?

If it sounds bright to you then re-adjust. Each guitar is going to be a very unique situation. Your particular body, paired with that neck, and the way that exact pickup was wound may just need to be placed slightly differently to get a more balanced sound.

The way the Franky's pickup is oriented its under the brighter section of the high strings as-is. Just unscrew the treble side of the pickup and try moving it around a bit while playing. See what happens.

    Exactly.
It's not a one-size-fits-all type of thing, when it comes to pickups. Plenty of variables.

But to answer the OP, no, I don't know anyone who's done that to their replicas. I'm sure others from here will chime in. Plenty of builders on the Links!
