I didn't see a "None of them" option? Haha

Bowie/Jagger do a fun cover, as do VH. I prefer the US Festival version...

I'd rather hear How Many Say I on repeat for an hour.

I honestly don't get the hatred for Van Halen's version of "Dancing In The Street". I prefer it to "Pretty Woman" ...

I don't prefer it to "(Oh) Pretty Woman", but I still like their version and think it's a great summer tune!

    couldn't agree more.

I love Diver Down. It gets all the hate. But I think it's the most "fun" album VH ever made.

I really like DITS, to this day.

It was never my favorite, but it's not a song i skip either.
Love the semi-sloppy/loose vibe of the solo.
Really like Dave's vocals & that intro.
    Good backing vocals too.

Diver has my favorite Alex VH drum sound.
    Super splashy & summery.

DD really is the last record to capture that spontaneous, raw, in the moment,
    vibe of mid period CVH.
It still feels connected to II, WACF & FW.

1984, to me, already felt like the next chapter.

"Diver Down" is a fun album that exudes "summertime", but "1984" kicks its ass and takes its lunch money.

VH's version of DITS is great! All their covers are great, honestly.

The groove, the solo, Dave, the background vocals....it has classic VH written all over it.

Good point. I always felt that DD was the last record to capture the rawness of the band, as well.
1984, signaled a change in several different aspects. Amazing record, of course, but the music and the band were changing.

Default Which Version Of 'Dancing In The Streets' Is The Best?

The song is garbage to begin with.

It is without in my Top 3 least favorite VH songs ever. I cannot fucking stand it. Cheesy, forgettable, just blech!! I'd rather be strapped to a chair and listen to Jump for a month on end than have to hear DITS. Thank god that POS hasn't come out of retirement live.

"1984" totally validated EVH's decision to build the "5150" studio at his house. "Diver Down" simply can't hold a candle to its predecessor, "Fair Warning" or its successor, "1984".

Honestly, I've always like DD better. Some of what being what UG eluded too, some for other reasons.

I love the versatility and variety on display with DD. Lots of great, different, sounding songs. Lots of great, different, guitar sounds and noises. I just love how it's all over the "Eddie" map.

You go from Intruder to Little Guitars. Secrets to Big Bad Bill. Throw in some cool covers and some great originals and it's a perfect VH record.

Songs like, Secrets, BBB, Happy Trails, and even covering a song like DITS, showed the band was much more than just a Dave scream and an Eddie solo.

It's a shame it doesn't get more respect and appreciation. Understandable, critics and fans of all types don't love it, but it was a pivotal record none the less.

Na, I don't see any CVH record being ten times better than others, or overwhelmingly better. Some are definitely better than others, but not by that much. They're all great and unique in their own right.
