Default Some audio of the new Franky

I recorded this into Cubase. It's not the best, but it gives you an idea how the guitar sounds.

That was a little bit of alright!!! LOL
Love the tones. Very good rendition of Ed's early sound. Honking mids and some breathing room (gain wise) for the notes. You really dialed in the vibe here. Nice song snippets, too!

So which pickup did you settle on for this clip?

Brown 1, gain at 5, treble and mid at 7, bass at 4. Master at 10, with some reverb and delay.

Ledvedder, there are no words to compliment that enough. Period. That tone was outstanding! I'm very happy for you've succeeded in your project. I admire the level of dedication and detail AND PATIENCE that went into that Franky build! After your build thread I talked myself out of ever trying to build a guitar. I'm simply not that skilled, and moreover don't have the patience! Congratulations, man! My eyebrows honestly raised as I listened to that sound clip. WELL done, VERY well done!

I've heard those Yamahas sound great but that thing was dead on.

I love the Frankenstein pickups I have them in three guitars, my Rasta, Unchained, and another Super Strat I put together.

Thank you very much! Definitely don't talk yourself out of making a guitar. I honestly have ZERO patience with a lot of things.

Don't tell the folks over at the Metroamp forums! They'll pick everything apart about that tone!

I'm still continuing my quest to find a gig worthy amp that can get that sound. Any suggestions? I currently play a DSL40, and while it's a great amp, it doesn't get THAT tone.

LOL I'm one of those guys over there and I love that tone you got.

I'm running a Bugera 1960 Infinium with a quad of JJ 6CA7s into a Jettenuator. I think my tonal issue comes from the stock Sheffield 1290s in my Peavey 412MS, giving it a more scooped tone.

Now, this video clip is using my older basswood Franky with a Duncan '59 Trembucker and is recorded with my old Droid RAZR HD MAXX. LOL

I've actually been finding that this guitar has an interesting bright twang to its tone compared to my other guitars with Floyds, so I do have a Duncan Custom Custom Trembucker on the way for it.
