Ed's response to that question in print has always been that he considers everything he writes to be instrumentals, and doesn't see the point in doing an instrumental album.

Personally, I'd love to hear him do one.

Ed Alex and Mike all can do an instrumental album without the VH name just for kicks and to satisfy the diehard vh fans. If it were legal reasons holding them back putting the VH name and lead singer dilema aside could be good, although it might be a commercial success its doing something.

Hell I could listen to VH music without lyrics. its that good.

Not all...but most instrumental solo albums don't sell in the millions. Eddie has written and produced many multi-platinum recordings....He probably felt he's on a good run and doesn't need a let down in sales but, look what happen to VH3. I believe it would be successful.

I personally would love for him to do a solo recording or one like Carlos Santana featuring well known artist singing his tunes.

Why doesn't Eddie do ANYTHING is the question we've been waiting for an answer to. I know cancer was a major part but what about now?

Personally, I don't see the point in an Eddie solo album. Considering how much VH has put out over the hears and how big of a role ed's guitar sound has played in all of it, I don't think an instrumental album is necessary.

As to why he hasn't put one out is anyone's guess. I mean, why havent VH released anything in the past few yrs? I don't think their hearts are in it anymore, personally. But who knows.
