Default Hai dozo! (Translations of DLR's Japanese on "Tokyo Dome Live")

Dave says this phrase a ton on the japan cd. Someone who speaks japanese, what does it mean in the context of the concert?

You can google it but nothing really gives a solid answer.

Surprised no one has translated all of Daves Japanese from the concert yet.

Ah yes..... Hai Dozo. It actually has 2 meanings in Japan. 1st meaning is, "Spitting penis friend". and 2. "Soy spitting eagle".

The Japanese language is very confusing and odd. Good food tho.

Means "go ahead" or "okay," but it can also be used as "thank you very much"

So it would be like Dave saying "thank you very much!" at the end of HAIL for example? Or more like "thank you!"? Seems like it doesn't really fit in a few places he said it.

    lol. spitting penis friend?

It's a really widely used term that loosely translates to "Please, go ahead" or "you first" but can pertain to anything. For example, when sitting down to eat, your partner may say that to have you begin first. Or, could be "please, enjoy this" as it pertains to the concert. Basically it's polite etiquette conversationally.

Basically I'm asking, if Dave said the same "phrase" at a concert in the US what would it (could it) be?

I think JD (JUNGLR DRUMMER) mentioned in another thread, that there are at least 2 of our posters who reside in that area of the world?
Wonder what they have to say about the Japanese translation? I'd be curious to hear from them as well...

I really like Tokyo Live, but do wonder what the heck Dave is saying at times!

Yeah I know, but it made me laugh.

I'm pretty sure mrchristopher lives in Tokyo and attended the concert. Pretty sure he's also a fan of the live album and would be one that would know what Dave said.

I really enjoy Dave's banter and it's obvious the Japanese crowd dug it as well.
