Default Does VH have new management?

Just curious, with all of these special appearances does the band have new management or PR Department? Are they managing themselves now?

It does seem like a new approach by VH to actually do some press and performances on TV, etc. I'm diggin it.

They could have easily done this same thing when Dave came back in '07.

It's a good question! I was thinking the same thing recently. I did a quick search, but I couldn't find anything that stuck out. most of the info dated back to ADKOT.
I'm guessing it's still Azoff, but I'm thinking maybe Eddie's wife is not doing the PR now?
Maybe she is, and Eddie has just finally fully emerged from his shell, and embracing interviews again, and really enjoying playing live again.
    Could be that simple.
Anyway..I don't own the new live CD, but there should be full credits I'd think.
Whatever the reason, it's great to see.

Someone mentioned that the company involved with their tour may be behind all this. If so, good for them. "Hey guys...you know...there are things that normal bands do to promote themselves. We're thinking you should start acting like you are in show business".

Funny I thought about this the other day and did look in the Tokyo CD liner notes. No mention of any manager or management company. Not even Azoff. Other thing I found interesting is that the copyright for the CD is to RWTD Inc. Not the standard Diamond Dave Enterprises and Three Twins.

    Hmmm.....That's interesting for sure.
Well...Whatever the reason, like I said, it's great to see so much of them...Damn! Have not seen this much VH since Leffler ran them. It could be the touring company I suppose too, but if so, I don't know of too many that would go out of their way to book as much personal press, and like it or not, but reality, on a band of their age.

I think it's just awesome though. They went from relative obscurity with the general public, to being front and center in a lot of conversations again.
It's better than we could hope for!

Honestly...When I came into work last week, there were some younger employees talking about how good "that band Van Halen" were on the Billboard awards!

Made me feel kinda good inside, I won't lie.

Still managed by Azoff. And Livenation is the mega-concert promoter. So no doubt they have a fat contract w them for the tour and have to do this promo stuff to help sell tix. What a concept :-)

I'm loving the new media friendly Van Halen!!!
There's never too much of these guys IMO, and I hope they continue this policy for as long as they can.

They weren't non-existent before, but this just works so much better!

Cool to know. I didn't see anything about them dropping Azoff or vice versa, so it didn't make sense in that regard.
I guess the main thing here is that in comparison to the last two tours, this is an amazing amount of press for them regardless of who the promoter is. I mean even the Popular Mechanics article was a huge left field thing for me personally, and I will pick that up for sure.
Despite the reason why, Eddie honestly looks and speaks far more comfortably than he has in recent years, and he's sober to boot, which is very good to see.

Might be because Mike still has his publishing rights on most of the songs.
