Default Billy Sheehan on Eddie Trunk 5/4/2015

just caught the middle of Eddie Trunk radio show today while he was talking to Billy Sheehan. he was talking about recording Skyscraper a bit and leaving the band. Said they were recording the backing vox for 88 tour when he was splitting from the band.

Also toward the end of the interview they got to talking about original members and reunions of sorts. Billy went of for a minute or two how he really wanted to see Mike back in VH and it hasn't been a real reunion in his mind. Think he has these interviews up on his podcast at some point

This is where someone pipes in, that Billy needs to "move on".

Billy comes from the same place a lot of us come from. And he's a musician that was all up in that time and scene. Mike's contemporaries know what's up.

Just an aside, not trying to defend or disparage, but why are they talking about stuff that happened in 1988? I mean dear Lord, that's twenty seven years ago.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

I personally would have about 100 questions for Billy Sheehan before getting to the mix on Skyscraper and why him and DLR parted ways.

Because Eddie Trunk is a douche :-)

They did of course talk about Winery Dogs and starting a new record. And of course how Eddie Trunk had a big part putting them together somehow (he loves to brag). Missed some of it

Man, I forgot about that damn cup. I always do, esp when I played High School football back in the 80's.

He is a class act, and yes, he is happy and healthy.
What you may not know is Billy and his family came to this country with 50 bucks, and a piano.

I met him once and he was very nice and listened to what his fans had to say. Jeff Berlin asked me same night how he sounded was a crazy night.

I've always liked Billy.....recently was reminded he was a scientologist which is fascinating to me for some reason. I've been reading and researching Scientology for a few weeks now....crazy stuff.

I wouldn't mind Eddie asking him about leaving Dave's band, that was a pretty big deal when it happened and it came out of left field so to speak. If Billy had stayed with Dave and had they continued to be more of a "band" than just a DLR solo show I think they could have been pretty successful down the road, at least until grunge came along.

Dave's worst move was leaving VH, his second worst move was letting Sheehan and Vai go.

In this interview Billy said Skyscraper was sort of a Rock + Dance Music experiment. And if it took off and hit big, Dave would've looked genius. I missed some of it but said recording this was much different, they weren't in studio at same time much and/or recording their parts separate.

Said EEAS they were much more focused band rehearsing non-stop and recording altogether more traditionally.
